I would recommend this game, but only for the writing. The detailed writing is excellent, a great experience. A wonderfull intense athmosphere, but the story in all was too confusing and too short. There were things that will not be explained and so I didn't know what actually really happened. That is sad. There could be more. Also a pro: the perfectly matched music/sound.

This game started out promising. Though the screen is dark through much of the game, the soundtrack and writing kept me going. Add some more visuals and the game would have been on my list of top stories until I reached the end. The ending was awful. I don't know what the devs were thinking having this as an ending. There were so many directions they could have taken that would have been great.

Dark, creepy, and all the time compelling. Beautiful art style and good music really help out with this.

I have read a number of visual novels, I tend not to read horror but surprising thoroughly enjoyed this one because of the fantastical narrative. I also enjoyed the torch mechanic to illuminate your surroundings, wasn't anything I had experienced before and a fun component. The story itself was very transportative and I won't say anything further as don't want to spoil it for anyone. Recommend for those who enjoy visual novels in general or fans of a dark tale.

Well written, well made, and beaucoup disturbing. It's short though, even if you go through it for the achievements. 90 minutes tops. 75/100 The good Excellent writing Great use of incidental music and effects Refreshingly disturbing Lots of save slots to load a game and try different options You probably won't look at a doll or a lily-of-the-valley the same way again Achievements and cards The good Very short Minimal replay value Subject material may irk or offend susceptible people (it didn't bother me, but we do live in the era of the readily offended snowflake)

the mechanics are annoying and the font used is hard on the eyes and not fun to read wich is the whole point of a visual novel, it gave me a headache, i tried my best but the font really got the better of me and made the experience not enjoyable

Content warning: There is a sexual abuse scene. It doesn't make sense in the context of the story and was quite graphic. I was enjoying the game at first. The ending ruined it and left me feeling disgusted. If this triggers you, or even if you're just looking for a decent horror story, I wouldn't recommend this title.

30 minutes of mystery. Then surprise rape scene with implied incest that has nothing to do with the game so far. Credits. 2/10 for good art.

I bought this game because it was relatively cheap and appeared to be a horror game. What I received was a digital manga with one actual decision that only influenced the gameplay if you followed a convoluted and obscure path to a strange and pointless alternate ending. The actual ending is also strange and pointless. I attempted to conjure a storyline out of the game and failed. When I learned that there were secret items, I collected them all. The extra story that they gave me only confused me more. I enjoyed the music and the art but the writing was full of run-on sentences and flowery descriptions. It badly needed editing. I like the idea of this game but it's a lot of ideas with nothing holding them together. It's a lot of horror tropes thrown into a hat. Also the ending made my soul leave my body and I'm horrified to read that other players were empathizing with the protagonist, who I hesitate to append the prefix pro- to in any way. If you like games that seem deep but aren't, then this game is for you. If you want to play the Platonic Ideal of this game, play Doki Doki Literature Club. Or The Last Door, which I have never played but my roommate wants me to play. I've had Steam for a long time and this is the first game I've ever reviewed. That's how much I didn't like it.

A very odd game to say the least.. not odd in the typical way that a visual novel horror game should be odd, but odd in the way that after playing it i felt like I needed to take a cold shower.. The story, you're a dude who enjoys spending your time chilling alone, reading your book until well into the night in semi secluded places.. You go urban adventuring into an abandoned house, and discover strange scary stuff.. and get cut ALOT.. The sounds and story is very unsettling, and one moment has a very well placed albeit very obvious jump scare.. Gameplay Press button to move story along like your typical visual novel.. this game has the added benefit of having a lamp which lights the pages, and can get dull... you'll have to wiggle the mouse key numerous times to get the light to go full blast... which even then isn't really full blast.. Very simplistic with about 10 total choices in the entire game.. You'll play this for about 2 hours give or take 30 minutes and have all the achievements.. Pro's - Creepy atmosphere Unsettling sounds Achievements Trading cards Good writing +1 and easy +1 on completed games Con's 1) The story could have been so much better if it flushed out the backstory of both the house and the inhabitants.. 2) Short, I have 4.6 hours on record but only played for slightly under an hour before I had all achievements, but the low price of only 2.99 kind of makes up for the lack of content.. 3) This could be either a pro or a con, after finishing the game I felt like I wanted to learn more about the house, about the (spirit) and maybe even figure out what the heck was going on.. I would think this game could do well with a sequel and or some story DLC to actually expand about the story.. Recommendations - I'm kind of conflicted on this one.. On one hand I feel like the game missed out on alot of potential story.. on the other hand what was there kept me entertained.. The price is only 2.99 so you can't get too held up on content, but man... I just wanted more.. Ultimately I'd recommend picking up the game, if you really aren't sure, wait for a sale, but be sure to buy it, as the unique experience will leave you satisfied, albeit wanting more..
