This game is fun at the beginning, but it gets repetitive very soon. There are not many elements in the game for you to play around with. You basically have a tavern to manage your deck, a shop and somewhere you can combine parts to get a new and sometimes better part. The heroes are quite similar, except for the begining stats.
However, I see much potential in this game. Lots of elements could have been added to the game to make it a gem, such as more customization and individual differences (skills?) for the heroes, more varieties of cards and more facilities that allow customization.
I will not recommend this game at this point, but I will if the developer could add more depth and fun to the game. (There hasn't been any update since March though, sigh)

If you got duped into this game because you thought it was an RPG I feel bad for you. this is just a game where characters you dont control and are completely stationary act like towers that shoot at creatures that walk on roads. There are hundreds of versions of this game that are free to play. I recomend those instead.

v1.0.7 "early access" seems to be a broken/abandoned game - character stats randomly reset for me after 40 minutes, other people also reported this on the forum but there is no response from the dev :(

GAME IS ABANDONED.... Do not throw away money. below is my original negative review
I pulled this straight from discussion page that i wrote rather then rewrite all the same crap in a review. Its all true, and none of it subjective. If you can handle TERRIBLE interface/ a pure DPS tower defense grind with zero strategy/ and glitches, then have fun playing 12$ for this trash. Here is what i wrote in discussions below: i edited it after 3 hours and wrote points 6-8.
Badly needed interface
So i have played this game for all of 24 minutes and have noticed some seriously lacking UI. Come on devs, this stuff i suggesting is STANDARD issue in any good game nowdays. Game is borderline unplayable till below interface added.
1-Needs item compare when in tavern. Maybe even compare to ALL heros button.
2-You can right click an item to wear it, but have to manually drag item off. Why can i not just right click again to remove item?
3-No desciptions for anything in game when doing a mouse over. Even better an option to toggle on/off descriptions once you know the game. All icons on top of screen, cards and even your soldiers have NO descriptions until you drag them and place them. So i have to memorize the stats of all soldiers and memorize what each card does by a simple icon? This is so weakly implemented.
4-Often when i try to place soldiers it wont let me, but a milimeter one way or another and it works? For a board so wide open, why am i soooo limited in placement?
5-Cannot rename Heroes or create your own.
6-There is a blue arua that range of unit in battle. Once you click on a Hero(tower) this aura NEVER goes away till your honor levels up. You just have to live with it on one of your heroes till aforementioned solution.
Bad UI is gamebreaking and unacceptable in todays gaming world. Please fix, as nothing i have mentioned here is overly demanding
Now 2 hours in and wish i had refunded this game while i had the chance, as the game has glitched out and i will get to that.
7-This game is 100% DPS tower based. SO play goes like this. Beat a couple levels, then replay a few levels to get your DPS up to speed for next batch of levels.
GAMEBREAKING GLITCH
8-The 'Tavern"-where you equip and level up characters. Takes forever to load suddenly, and wont go back to normal even after restart. Any new card i have is just blank, with no indicating icon, nor does it show level ups for characters anymore. ^$#* this game!!!

I play it since the beta test. I like the game for a mix of genres (RPGs, TD and CCG) and complexity. Also there is a large selection of builds and tactics.
I see great progress in how the design has changed over the last time and how developers respond to all community suggestions.
I think the game will appeal to those who love the old good RPG and TD. I was interested to go through all the content, collect the best items and legendary cards. I hope for the new updates and new content.

This game is currently abandonned and isn't in any kind of working condition anymore.
The list of bugs and broken things is really too long to write here.
Currently you cannot improve your " towers " anymore, I reported that 3 MONTHS ago and there isn't a single reply from the dev.

I really hate to write a bad review, especially for an early access game, but ...
There are multiple problems with the game:
Most of all, it's a boring grindfest. As in most tower defense games, you place your towers (in this case characters) on the map. But in this case there are just two kinds of towers: Ranged and Melee. And they do damage. In game you get "stars" which can be used to make one character stronger.
The tactics part is rather small, because there are not a lot of options. Basically it is:
-) Place characters.
-) Wait
-) Put star on a ranged character (it's pretty pointless to star a melee character)
-) Wait

...
Grind the current level till the ranged characters have earned enough xp. Level them and play repeat the grinding on the next level.
Since only the characters that kill an enemy get xp, all xp go to the ranged characters. --> Melee characters are dead weight, since they stay several levels behind.
So, it is basically endless grinding.
Items: There seem to be alot of items, but in the end it's just cosmetics. Ok, there are several better versions of the current item till you get Legendary items, but, there you are. Crafting is possible, but useless. By far too random and you craft so many crap ... It's better to sell the items and buy new items in the shop.
And then there are the bugs: I lost about a ton of items because they simply vanished. These vanishing items bugs persist now for a year or so. Today one of my ranged characters suddenly became melee and with that totally useless (that bug would be really nice the other way round). Happened to somebody else too, as I found out when looking into the forum.
