This is just bad. Really, really bad. This is back to the realm of "We don't want to be in a sense of scary any more, we want to make action packed games! Here is a taste of it!" and it tastes like crap. This is just terrible. There is no sense of "Man. I should be cautious." it is just "I am Chris Redfield. Recognize." Until there comes a point where "Ha! You grew over confident! Now we're going to kill you...unfairly." The entre thing with Lucas is more or less just "In case you were wondering..." not really "This helps make more sense out of anything." and the fact that the final conflict is timed? Just makes it even worse. I don't care if this is free: i want my money back

It should be called Not Very Good instead. If you played RE6 there's basically zero tension on if Chris can save even a single one of his kidnapped team because they did the exact same thing there like 3 times. The High-Tech lab section actually makes the main game's story less grounded and unique for an RE title, it feels completely shoed in. Lucas isn't an interesting antagonist and every single story beat is super predictable. Playing as Chris in full military mode removes any aspect of horror and the enhanced BoWs are just annoying to deal with. He isn't particularly interesting here as he's just again repeating his shtick from RE6. The bosses are badly designed and boring. It's not well written, interesting or fun, but at least it's free!

Not a Hero is a DLC that takes place after the main game, where BSAA agent Chris Redfield works with the now reformed Umbrella Corporation, now known as Blue Umbrella, where they have to find Lucas Baker and learn information about the group that created Eveline. I was so excited to play this, as I’m finally getting into territory I’m not all that familiar with in Resident Evil 7, and I also get to play as Chris Redfield, who has a completely different look and a different voice actor. This is definitely better than Banned Footage, and it’s probably about as good as the main game too! I honestly really like the gameplay mechanic from Chris Redfield, where you can clearly tell that he’s stronger than Ethan Winters, and he definitely means business, trying to find Lucas. You can knock the enemies out with your fist, which is always a delight to see, but it still keeps the disturbing factor down, where you see some of your soldiers in horrible situations that end up with something that happens to them by the end. The puzzles are still there, which can be tricky, but nothing too complex. The character development from Chris is honestly kind of nice to know about his issues when working with Umbrella, even if Blue Umbrella is trying to undo the problems Umbrella has started. The set-pieces are fun to deal with, and the final boss in this is better than the final boss from the main game. Not a Hero is an amazing extra campaign that adds extra hours to an already amazing game, which expands the lore of the game that I’m surprisingly into. 10/10

Sorry but that's not Chris Redfield, that's Christopher Resident... Jokes aside, this DLC is definitely more action packed than the base game, they feel like two different games. But it doesn't mean that it's bad, if you don't hate RE5 & RE6, you'll probably enjoy this one too. It's worth play if you want to find out what happens to Lucas. Not the best DLC in the series, but since it is only about an hour long and it's free, you have nothing to lose.

Chris cut the JUICE and went to Louisiana. Nice shooting and story. The suit/mask plus the weapons fit nicely to the whole concept. I was really happy to play as Chris and I enjoyned revisting some places from RE 7 and explore them further. There are a lot of surprises in the story that give a lot for the next games. Perhaps it is connected to RE 8? Although I have it, I haven't played it yet. When I will, this review will be edited.

Christopher "Please bang my sister Leon" Redfield takes out Lucas "I'm pretty sure he's gay" Baker in this dlc. It has a lot of mechanics taken from games like re5 and re4 just with a new point of view. It's not a bad DLC but I'm glad it wasn't a full game.
