Rewiev of Guardian Of December
Story: The story is great, I love the idea that a demon has been caged in, escapes hell, and then defends humanity. I'd love to see a more detailed backstory of the Guardian's past, or maybe what would happen after the salvation from the Devil (These could function as the "Extra stories perhaps).
Graphics: While not the very best, they are very charming, and they have the classic "Glossy" quality that Vidas generally uses in his games.
Suggestions: I'd suggest to maybe add some holiday decorations to the Arano Village maybe, since it's December after all. I couldn't get all helmets, so maybe make it simpler to get those last two helmets? While I bought every sword, there was still one empty unused slot left, maybe some design changes could be done there. While the Guardian had all sorts of cool attacks, I would suggest that the enemies should also have a different amount of attacks depending on their strength. Those chests with coins and EXP, I believe they chould have different colours to differentiate, and scatter these chests across the entire game instead of some few areas. The last suggestion I have is to make the level bar completely yellow once you hit the final level, instead of it appearing to be "empty".
Bugs: When in first person, I found that you can see through the Gaurdians arms in some attacks.
Horror: The game is generally not scary, but I got scared so bad when the creature hanged in a noose popped up on the screen in the beginning. The Dungeon of Angel Slayers was pretty scary, and so was the final "prison" realm.
Comedy: Some enemies attack animations was hilarious, like the Normal skeleton, the Bear, and the frozen flesh.
Music: While the newer games have so much better music, this game still has pretty good music, but from a Music theoretical point of view — there are many parts to improve.
Levels: The level designs are really awesome any unique from each other, but can be a little repetitive (I mean Arano Ice Cave). My favourite levels was the Swamp and the Temple.
Strategy: Don't manually heal yourself up, let the game do that itself everytime the Guardian goes down to 0 HP. The game doesn't save in the beginning, but it saves automatically once you get to the Arano Village.
Final Score: 7.5/10

Hey, so as a Youtuber, I must say--This is quite possibly one of the best horror games I've seen! If you can get over the fact that the game has fixed perspectives, you'll probably have quite a lovely time playing it.
Pros:Genuinely terrifying atmosphere, decent story, and very spooky events. Decent progression if you know how to manage your resources
Cons:I have NO idea what happens if I game over. Do I have to start all over again? Hopefully I won't need to find out, but a save point would be a nice reassurance.
Fixed perspective can be mildly irritating with navigation.
The actual random encounters are only really good for a flinch. not a real scare. Probably could use a variety of sounds for the jumpscare so we don't get the same one over and over.
Mind, I haven't played past the first hour or so. But still, I totally recommend it!

A game that maybe tries, but it is some top tier boring and ugly game play.

Okay, first, play the game before you buy the soundtrack. Personally, I found the "music", and I use that word loosely, totally annoying to the point that I said to myself, "if this doesn't get better, I'll play with speakers turned off." Secondly, when the game starts, I was wandering around aimlessly, and the devil was whispering repeatedly something intelligible and after wandering through the whole first floor/dungeon/basement, I saw two blobs that I guess were silhouettes, but I could not figure out how to interact with them or battle. I deleted the game from my hard drive/PC and marked the category as "don't like", so that when I get a new PC someday, I don't waste time downloading this again.

It was an early October morn, and I stumbled across this game in my steam discovery queue. I was immediately drawn to the graphics, and just how vast they were, and decided to drop a measly 5 dollars, after all, when has Lincoln ever led me astray. However, immediately after installation, I sensed something was off, however, I persisted. After the background opening sequence, I immediately fell into the void. I do not know what caused this, but the sudden falling of my character spooked me quite a bit. However, I continued to persist, sitting through the sequence again. This time, everything continued as normal. I played through the game, continuously shitting my pants at every jumpscare, and decided to take a break. Later that night, I awoke from my slumber, palefaced. And while I dont remember the contents of my first dream, my second was unforgettable. As I drifted back to slumber, I heard wailing, a soft scream, followed by a subtle laughter of a frightening foe. I tried jolting my head to the right, but alas, my head was unable to turn. I realized in that moment, I was experiencing sleep paralysis, my first time ever. I didnt know what to do. The sounds continued on, as an eerie figure reminiscent of some of this game's earlier enemy slowly approached my bed. Petrified, I used ever fiber of my being to move myself. I shot back awake, and was able to move again. I knew my mind was playing tricks on me, but for some reason, I think this game placed a curse on my mental.
To those willing to be cursed, I would say take the plunge, but I advise you, implore you to be cautious, this game has a living lifeform inside of it. Im lucky to still be alive.

Actual hidden gem
I do love me some cheap looking horror games, but that one actually surprised me. Some of the creature designs are really creative, heck the entire first area of the game has some really creative scenery and jumpscares. Its something I've never seen done before (I could be wrong) but this is the first time I saw an RPG being mixed with horror. For looking really cheap, this game has better animations than some AAA Games. Now, one thing I absolutely hated were some of the levels. Some levels go on for way too long, and the gameplay boils down to walking an endless road until you find the boss that you need to kill. I had some fun with the combat, but there is barely any strategy involved in them. No enemy is weaker to fire magic and no enemy is weaker to ice magic, so it doesn't even matter how you attack, which is a shame. I see great potential in Guardian Of December. This game isn't hard, I never died once because I'm just a godlike gamer, but the ressource managment was kinda intense, since you can only heal 4 times in each area. All in all, it looks really cheaply made, but something tells me, that some actual love was put into this game. An idk I kinda like the grafics, they remind me of a PS1 game and I dig it.
For 5$ its actually kinda packed with content, but it can get really boring and frustrating sometimes, but I enjoyed my time with it anyways.
