For the full price? Definitely not worth it. For the .79€ I paid for it in 90% discount? Why not. A piece of history, clunkily made for VR into a short but enjoyable educational journey through Bruges.

This is pretty neat for one of the older VR experiences. It is simply a quick journey from Sea to port and through the city in Medieval times. But you can get a great feel of the atmosphere even if brief. Going back to each location adds a bit extra info and some minor interaction as well.

I thought the "game" was ok for $8. What I couldn't understand was the narrator pronouncing Bruges as "Brew-jess". I've always heard it pronounced "Broozh". The internet says this is correct also, so it must be true.

Cool little experience. The visuals are impressive with lots of detail. The lighting and shadows look great and I like the night time setting. The narrator gives a great lesson on the city too. The scale of the boat guide dude was a little too big though. For the price it's a tad short. I can tell a lot of work probably went into the game but unfortunately people's expectations for VR are only going higher and higher each day. I mention that in my overview below. Somewhere under $10 will probably have a lot more people at least trying the game. My overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07ZY_8OJmUE

Currently, history VR like this is probably the closest we can come to feeling like we are going back in time. I hope for more educational experiences like this. The textures and scenery in this are nice. For this price, I feel it should be longer with more content. By the way, that barge captain is a giant. :D
Experienced on the Oculus Rift
This is really 2 educational experiences about the history of Bruges. The main one is a guided, on-rails narrated cinematic experience. You're basically transported into different scenes of the journey starting from out to sea going into Bruges. Whole thing is about 10 minutes long. You can interact with some objects. The physics are surprisingly pretty good on the items you can pick up. However, you only see your motion controllers on the Oculus Rift (versus the avatar hands seen on the store page video / screenshots). The other experience is more focused on the history with a brief audio tidbit on the location. This is a more static experience as you're no longer on rails. You're free to look around at the locale. On the Oculus Rift, I could not pick up any objects in this mode, except for the archery. Yes, in one of the scenes, you can get a bow & arrow and shoot at targets. It works surprisingly well, but it's just static targets. Please be warned that you have to click down on your joystick and press trigger to make menu selections in this section of the game. You then have to manually exit and restart at the end of each scene. This really makes the experience a bit frustrating. I only paid 79 cents USD during a Steam sale. I think it's worth it for that price. Not sure it's worth the $7.99 USD normal price though. The graphics are good considering how old this title is. It's running on the Unity Engine. [b]Rate 6/10. Very nicely done. Especially for me because I know Bruges very well. This is definitely the future of history lessons. App works fine. Just a pitty that it's so short. You pay 14,99 for a 10min history lesson.

This is pretty good. I played it on an oculus quest 2 wirelessly, with roomscale boundary. You can't use the controllers to move, but you can use them to make menu choices, and move around by actually walking. If you like historical VR experiences this one is pretty cool, with great graphics, and interesting history.

Awesome! History lessons via VR. The graphics and movement are great and you really caught me off-gaurd with the opening scene. Very enjoyable. This is a great way to experience history and have the knowledge stay with you. Very nicely done. More please. :-)

If you're a student of history, and have a few bucks to spare, I'd recommend this despite it not being totally polished. I got a sense of the place and the time, and a few visualized facts that made the experience worth it for me. I would have liked the story mode to be one continuous boat ride through the canal, with more characters to watch, a bit of intrigue even. Still though I liked it and hope we get a lot more of these soon.
