This is now more in depth stats game and game play with smooth enogh , This is now a game with batting score can be reach 300 + as well as AI can chase if you have not manage the team proper , You need to tacts right decision at right moment as which bowler can bowl at which moment of game. although not played Last 2 version 2015 and 2016 much more , but 2017 looks a great deal.

Ignore the negative reviews, this is a very good game, maybe the graphics aren't that great but thats not what this game is about. The scoring is realistic, loads of different strategies while playing. You can prepare your home pitch to suite your means, train and coach and prepare your batmen and bowlers with various technique's etc. All the players are there as is the 100% accurate fixture list. If you like cricket and you're into stats and stuff, then you'll like this, buy with confidence.

It's good to see the guys are still working on creating a new Cricket Captain each year. I used to play it back in the old days when it was called ICC, and had some great moments both online and in my own private saves. This year I'm going to give it a go on YouTube so be a good test of the game but from what I've experienced so far it's a good playing experience.

As a huge cricket fan, I always look for good cricket games. I've bought the last 3 Cricket Captains. Unfortunely, it's not good enough from the developer. The only main difference each year is player statistics and more leagues to play with. Besides that, there isn't much going for the game. However, this game does have potential, the developer needs to realise that they can take this game far. But every year it's the same and it's frustrating. This game is a coach management game, and there isn't much to customise or manage. There should be more, more in-depth for the player. Batting should be a lot more complicated, bat differently, rather than just changing how aggressive they are. As well with bowling. This game needs more depth, training should be a massive factor but doesn't seem to be.

Really boring if you have the 2016 version or 2015 one don't waste your money they are the same. If you really want it wait for a steam sale

It's a good game. Always has been. The only new things in this version though are a few new leagues and updated squad lists. Same story every year. Considering that the mobile version of exactly the same game is less than a third of the price and is exactly the same, this is a big rip-off. If you're new to this franchise, get an old version for your PC or better still, just get the mobile version. It's a good game but this version is a rip-off.

This is going to be the last Cricket Captain game I'm going to buy. It's also the first I've had to return. It's sad, really sad. But for the last few years, these games have been unplayable, overpriced, and the way that Childish Things have handled the selling and development of the games has been borderline unethical. CC2017 is no different - literally - to the volumes before it, it is exactly the same game with exactly the same issues as the last four volumes at least. To charge so much for what amounts to little more than an update to 2013 is appalling and the company's refusal to listen to its fans, who want nothing more than to see this series regain some sense of quality, is just stupid. Some specific issues: quantity rather than quality in expanding the competition lists rather than looking into improving the game as a whole; a bias towards England and the game's markets that see smaller teams suffer in quality and England, Australia, and India incredibly overpowered; poor research, very little about the players is correct and the rating system seems to be very limited, the whole database seems based only on averages, there's no depth; the price, seriously, £19.99 until the next volume comes out is ridiculous; broken one-day mechanics, T20 is unplayable and the aggression system is deeply flawed; terrible graphics that the creators focus on too much (few people really watch them); terrible mechanics that see the AI pick their teams in wacky ways; weird algorithms that sees teams consistently score more than they should and take more wickets than they should in certain situations; a difficulty system that makes little sense; very ugly presentation - this series needs a graphic designer. These games have no longevity thanks to the incredibly limiting scenarios (which could be solved by taking a look at other management games and how they handle hiring, firing, and transfers) which makes the price-point even more unbelievable. There are so many amazing suggestions on forums and Facebook for this game, where the developers engage, but they seem more interested in a cash-cow with which they can dupe their fans into buying a glorified database update. What's more, you should really be able to succeed with any team eventually - which would be a subtler and more interesting way to handle difficulty - but as it stands, only certain teams will see success in the game. It's sad, very sad, becasue this game could be so much more. If they developers took a year or two out to really revolutionise the game, engaged some of the more dedicated fans for suggestions, and actually started to care about the game and its fans, then it could be a great game. The fans wouldn't even mind, we want to see this series get better. I, for one, would have happily waited until 2018 for a new version, or even given up some of my time as a designer and fan to help Childish Things. So what's the problem? A lack of competition. Cricket Coach has gone down and there are no other management games like this, so there's nothing putting economic pressure on the developers, which in turn has allowed them to develop this lazy, apathetic attitude towards their game and their fans. Maybe one day they'll get their act together, but I don't think I'll end up seeing it. After thirteen years on this series, I'm not sure I can handle it anymore.

You know what you're getting from this - pretty much Cricket Captain 2013 with updated databases, and minor tweaks. Desperately in need of a change up to keep it fresh, or a half decent rival, to keep Chris and team on their toes. Loved the series for years, but it hasn't appeared to have improved since 2013 - just a cash cow churned out each year. Even an editor would freshen it up a bit.

First time buying on PC - almost identical to mobile. Similar to previous versions. For a management game, one of the best cricket ones around. Is it worth $25; probably not as OVERALL the game hasn't changed much over the past few years. Positives: - Runs well on below par computer, - Large database of players, - Different modes (domestic/international career, tournaments, All-time Greats, scenarios, tournaments) - Day-Night games look good Negatives: - No DRS, - Poor crowd animation, - Hawkeye needs imporving - both animation and player's position - Also no Super Over if T20 ends in a tie. Overall, not worth full price, but still a decent game if you like cricket and management games

In game it's a good ball-by-ball simulation. Outside the game it's pretty much the same as it's been for 20 years. The developer doesn't really expand the gameplay - they add different national competitions to the game which (I expect) expands their market reach and means they sell more copies of what is essentially the same game it's been for 20 years. I get that. But that's pretty much all there is. If you are anything like me then playing in one of these expanded markets adds nothing what-so-ever to my gameplay experience. And that's the problem. These new markets pretty much ARE the only reason to get the new version of the game. That's what they've added, that and updated rosters which really should be in an in game editor by now. So - If you are interested in Pakistan domestic league you can now play it. It plays exactly the same as every other league - but the players names are correct and the logos are close (though not correct) and the rules of the league are quite accurate (though pretty much trhe same as - say - the UK league in this case) Stats are still bafflingly under represented. They throw a bone every year or so with "now with another tiny teeny aspect of the full stats the game creates exposed to you - the player" The stat presentation is seriously underwhelming and I can't understand why that is. Someone with a week-long experience of any DBMS or even a free spreadsheet would be able to collate and present better and fuller stats than this game does. The biggest issue though is double barelled and about the game world. Firstly there is very little metagame. Gameplay plays like this... Pick the team - play the game Pick the team - play the game Pick the team - play the game ... alter the rather underwhelming training options - then Pick the team - play the game Pick the team - play the game Pick the team - play the game... Continue about 40x Season over. CONTRACTS (the one small aspect of metagame the series has) Wait for next season Start again The contracts are neither accurate nor work very well. There is still no way of knowing whether an overseas player is available for the season. You do know if they have IPL comittments, but that's it. I frequently have both players (the main overseas and the "reserve") picked by their national side if they are playing remotely well for me. Including, frustratingly, frequently players who have never played the form of international cricket they are being picked for before. After a few years I stop getting overseas players, good ones cost a lot and having both plucked for international duty and the game not allowing me to get another mid-season (something incredibly common IRL) can be a waste of 10% of my total budget better spent on training younger players or buying solid domestic talent. T20 run rates are not very reflective of the real thing. Players new to the crease do not hit sixes (they sometimes edge a six over third man however). Pinch hitters work too infrequently. It's easy to stifle the opposition - the game is fair in this respect - The AI teams rarely bat with power and flair and neither can you. Keeping them under 6.5 runs an over is pretty easy I can win T20 games batting first and posting scores under 130. More often than not even on perfect pitches with fast outfields it's way to easy to stop the AI scoring. No personality. - in 1998 the game had more training options and a placeholder for users to add photos (as official photos are not allowed - that's fine - but they took away the option of user photos the old 60x70 BMP files that worked) No metagame - reduced training options and photos removed and a clunky UI that looks designed for mobile gaming with big clunky buttons (meant for fingers not mouse pointers I'd guess) I have bought every single version of this game since it came out as it is the best. But it shouldn't be. IRL Cricket is financially and exposure wise a much bigger game than it was 20 years ago thanks to IPL T20 and worldwide TV exposure. Yet.. I still see all the missed opportunities and the removal of some depth and personality options over the years, the game has added a few more stats (Why just a few? Why not just expose all the stats the game creates) 3D graphics? so bad and clunky I play with them turned off and tweaked simulation which is a little better than it was 20 years ago - but not 20 years better. Come on no way is it 17 iterations of a full priced game better. Again the best ball by ball cricket sim there is. The best cricket sim there is. Given the long standing short-comings of the game - in 2017 - that's a pretty shocking state of affairs.
