Thanks in part to my own experiences with how long it takes me to complete HOP games, I tend to start out on Expert difficulty. It was a good choice. As you can see, it only took 6 hours for me to finish, including the bonus chapter.
I enjoyed it. Over the course of the game you learn up to seven magic spells that add an extra layer of fun to solving problems. There are hidden object mess scenes that include some that need a bit extra searching to find, lots of potion mixing, and an interesting weather machine in the bonus chapter that has four buttons for altering the weather. If I had one of those at home I'd probably end up breaking it from messing around with the buttons too much, oof! But hitting all the buttons at once is do-able ;)
As you may have already guessed, this game has its own fantasy theme, so it writes its own rules.
There is one error in the bonus chapter - a sun icon is picked up, but it is meant to be a sun picture on a block.
If you're familiar with HOGs, you know what to expect. If you are too familiar with them, then even Expert difficulty will be a walk in the park, meaning the cost of the game will offer less hours of enjoyment.
It is worth mentioning that while the game doesn't have steam achievements, it does have in-game achievements, which may or may not change your mind about getting it. Howver, in my own experience after finishing the bonus chapter, the achievement menu bugged out to a black screen.
Ah well. C'est la vie ;)
