I liked both the story and game mechanics. First try took almost 4hours and we didnt make it. Recommended!

Spoilers ahead, because it's hard to point out specific complaints without them. We played two games with 3 players. It's a pretty straightforward "find the key items and open the special locked door, then do what the person inside tells you" mission, but there's a lot of red herrings that just give you more clues/evidence and lore. After a lot of floundering about we ended up finding the final key completely by accident, as the investigation contained no hints where it was located. Right after we opened the objective door we ran out of time for the main mechanic, spawning a huge boss, which subsequently drove one of us double insane and ended the game. We played again and got the exact same layout, so we rushed all the keys and opened the objective door, only to be told we didn't gather enough evidence before talking to the NPC who we were trying to help and immediately got attacked by the him. We felt completely blindsided by this, since none of the other objects or NPCs gave any warning that this was a thing we needed to do, and it didn't even make sense in the context of the investigation. We found out that killing the monster then let us proceed as if we'd collected enough evidence, but by that point we were so irritated at the turn of events we just clicked through to complete the mission and see the ending (which is the bleakest post-game closure I've seen so far). Outside of the final boss and the random NPC attack, this investigation is very light on combat, despite giving us a bunch of weapons and spells. Overall, I wish there were either less interactable objects that just give clues/backstory, or more useful rewards for interacting with them (such as guidance on what you needed to do; either collecting evidence or hints on where to look for the keys). One of our players was annoyed that while he very much enjoyed the storytelling, most of it was meaningless fluff and we lost the game because we spent so much time doing it. Ultimately, it felt like the first time you played this investigation you were doing so just to figure out what you needed to do on a second playthrough, and then since we skipped steps in order to quickly complete the main objective on the second playthrough, we got punished a different way. Thematically, I'd give it a 4/5, but mechanically, a 2/5. As an aside, despite having both tile packs and an expansion, the game used only a single monster out of each extra box, and tiles solely from the base game. IMO it shouldn't pull monsters from the other boxes unless it is pulling tiles from it as well, and it would have been nice if there were alternate layouts that used the tile packs more thoroughly.

Unplayable. Intro comes up fine and then when map setup begins, it shows no descriptions other than "S_TILE" and "S_CAT" and the like. Was really hoping to play a new scenario this weekend.

A really good DLC for Mansions of Madness 2nd edition! I loved this take on the haunted house trope, with a nice story twist that made us realize what we messed up and how we could replay this scenario better. Already looking forward to my next playthrough!

A good scenario that gets better the more content you own for the game. Spooky events and an exciting finale. I don't want to spoil anything but I've played this 4 times with different people (Got the "Bad Ending" once) and it's been great! Hope Fantasy Flight Games pumps more of these out, especially those that use EVERYTHING from ALL the expansions and Tile/Figure Collections... Two Thumbs Up!

Atmospheric adventure, mostly focused on exploration with some combat. We lost on the first play through but it didn't feel unfair the way some of the adventures can. Definitely recommend as an extra adventure to add to your set!

This DLC was fun! I played this with a group of 5 Mansion's "veterans" and we were searching for something new to play. The main NPC and the story are well written. We found it a bit easy in the end, but we still had fun. However, I would definitely recommend it to players that prefer investigative adventures rather than fighting ones.

Nice scenario, got a cool ghost-house feeling. But in the end - could have made few better choices. Can't wait to play it again, with more people. Hope there will be more and more different scenarios coming :)

At the moment, you can't see flavor text for anything, only the codes, like S_CAT when the app would tell you to place a cat token on the board with a little description. This makes the scenario literally unplayable and as such, this piece of content obviously cannot be recommended until the issue is fixed.

Great story that works fine with the basic game; no need for expansions, etc. Pacing is a welcome change from the other scenarios currently available. Hopefully FFG continue to pump these out. Really helps justify the cost of the game.
