I tought this was fun, but
after you escape an escape room, it should be an happy ending, this end is too dark, I was feeling really bad, too immersive i guess because of VR
otherwise the game is kinda of nice without bugs

No way I can recommend this game as a live $$$ release... it should definitely be listed as early access and free. Given the recent developer update posts, they are obviously working on core elements of the gameplay, audio, and major bug fixing. Object interaction is very fiddly... I'm unable to pick up items like couch pillows without a lot of delicate maneuvering. I'm constantly dropping objects while trying to move with an item in my hand. User interaction feedback is almost non-existent. You'll click a switch in one room that has an associated action in another area of the house, but there is almost zero feedback that something actually happened. [EDIT] Audio quality in general has been improved. Voice acting and dialog is cheesy... very, very, cheesy. I'll try to revisit and update my review at a later date, but first impressions are everything... especially for a paid game like this.

Spoiler free. I want to recommend this game but I can't justify the price, when there are free VR experiences that are longer and better executed than Welcome Home, Love. Writing & story fall apart quickly at the end and it instantly killed the suspension of disbelief.

Disappointingly short. Completed in about 50 minutes. The longest part (probably about 20 minutes spent on the final combination puzzle (not the cubes). Playing with WMR, it was just about bearable, but there was a lot of juddering (not so much that I felt ill like in another game). Was it worth the money? I am not convinced. There is no replay-ability (I will remember the puzzles easily enough). I am not sure I would want to let someone not familiar with VR play due to the juddering. As I have completed it though, I won't be getting a refund

I really enjoyed this indie release, if you're a fan of puzzle games it gives you a good balance of puzzles. It was great for showing VR to my friends, they could jump right in and they enjoyed the story. The twist in the end was totally shocking, definitely not what I expected! I had a couple of small issues as described in another review when I first played, but the frequent updates improved the gameplay and overall quality. Good to see indie games that are well maintained.

This game was a whole lot of fun. It isn't the longest game ever and I beat it within about 45 minutes, but it was a lot of fun the whole way through. I'll be buying a copy for my VR buddy right when I get done with this post :)

Overall gameplay is your average escape room all the puzzles before the end are fairly easy. By the time I got to the final puzzle, which involves taking cubes found around the house and putting them in a specific order. I was having trouble I had to look up a video, which normally I refuse to do. By the time I completed the cubes and onto the code I was having so much trouble understanding/deciphering that I was fuming, I was so pissed off. So pissed off in fact that I HAD to look up the code. If you are stuck at the end of game and pissed off like I was here's the code https://steamcommunity.com/app/553050/discussions/0/4265444529695470960/
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers. Spoiler-free Review.
I bought this in the Steam Autumn Sale of 2017 for $2.89 USD. I think this is a good deal. It's a nice puzze / escape room game. It took me about 1.2 hours to complete the puzzle, but it can probably be beaten in 20 minutes if you just rush through the game. Locomotion is by teleportation. However, I made sure to try to find every object that is interactable. You get little voice snippets from Jess. I liked them for the most part. Some negative reviewers call them cheesy, I think it gives you insight into the person. It made you feel like you knew Jess better and there's actually some motivation to finish the game. This game is different than most escape rooms because you're not actually trying to escape at all. You're playing a game with your boyfriend Nick and he has a promised surprise for you at the end. It's a rainy day outside and the news is reporting about some missing girls. I believe there are 4 rooms. Your goal is to unlock them all and then open the safe. There is a hint system to help you, although I found only in the first puzzle were the hints really all that useful. But I would suggest using the hint system because it moves the narrative story along. Most of the puzzles were not that difficult. There is one with switches that gave me some difficulty, mostly because I had no idea what they were referencing. And the last puzzle was impossible for me. I had to look up the code online. Well, as far as puzzle / escape rooms go, this one is nice. It's not great, but it's serviceable. Better than the average, but not much better than the average. Rate 6/10.

Refreshing escape room where the story is an important part of the game. Every object can be picked up and Jess’ voice comments on it like older adventure games which adds to the immersion. Most puzzles aren’t too challenging, except for the last one which is more difficult but makes sense once you ‘get’ it. Not the longest game at 2 hours and could be finished sooner if I didn't listen to all the voices... But I suppose that's part of the fun. Loved the dialogue and attention to detail making the world feel like her real house. Even the radio announcer was subtly part of the game if you listen to it closely. Overall very solid experience, good value and a pleasantly unexpected ending to Jess' journey.

Welcome Home is a narrative puzzle VR title. In this game, you play as a girl by the name "Jess". Apparently Jess' boyfriend has a surprise for her, but she'll have to work for it, by solving the puzzles that he has planted in the house. The game took me roughly an hour or two to complete. The difficulty of the puzzles are fine for the most part but I still got stucked a some of them. Most if not all of the items can be picked up and unlike most other VR titles, I have no difficulty picking them up. These items has their stories too, as narrated by Jess in the game when she (me) picks them up. The collision for the items and the environment works well too, and one thing I like is that I tried to peer (by stretching my head) through the wall to see if I could cheat, but my visual blurred as soon as my head goes into the wall, which is rather neat. There are some minor bugs, but they are not game-breaking in anyway (and apparently will be fixed regardless). Other than that I don't really have any issue with this title. If you want to take a small respite from all those VR wave shooters, do consider this game for some challenging puzzles instead for a change
