I'm pretty disappointed with this game overall, but the part that tipped me over to a negative review was the last puzzle of the main game - the gown pieces just refused to go together. I just got fed up with it and skipped it. Sadly it's a running theme with this game - even playing on casual, very little made any sense whatsoever. Either the minigames were too easy or ridiculously convoluted. Did I accidentally switch difficulties during a minigame? Very probably, as there are buttons on the sides allowing you to switch puzzle versions. As far as story goes, I liked the idea behind it but it seemed poorly executed. Some mad ice spirit trying to wipe out your bloodline by altering your past, all the time threatening you with death. I mean what the hell? Talk about redundant threats, if you kill my relatives you kill me anyway. Duh. Other ridiculous plot holes emerge as you try to solve puzzles. I'm guessing around an hour of my time was just running around trying to work out what to do with a full inventory - going to the map screen was useless as it would light up every zone as something you can 'do something' in, even if you currently can't. There is a button on the UI that links an in-game guide, but I was trying my hardest to ignore it. So not only were interactions sometimes very well hidden and inconspicuous, but some actions were needlessly drawn out, considering the urgent nature of some situations, trying to save your relatives. Examples include having a nice long shovel, but not being able to use it to get some bellows out of some rafters, or even just using that same shovel to smash up some ice, or locks. At one point you flat out refuse to carry around a bunch of mushrooms, even though you have a knife. It's funny actually, as the mushrooms get picked with a basket. There are in-game achievements but they suck. After not being allowed to do the last puzzle, I lost interest in any extra chapter, if there was one. For a supposed 'Collector's Edition' it remains very much a throw away game, not worth your time or brainpower.
