I used to play this game on NES when I was a kid, but what the fu*k mate I don't remember the CPU being so ruthless and chasing me everywhere and only actually fighting each other when I have been defeated. Literally there is always one guy (or gal) just standing still doing nothing when I'm getting beaten by others. Why not beating them instead of chasing me? Why don't let me be the one who did nothing and stole the victory in the end just like the good ol' day?
