Edit: This is a good game, I eventually took the time to look into my own issues and figured out how my save files work. There is a lot of moving pieces here and after tracking for a while it makes sense how some of the files won't always make it and the fix is looking pretty predicatable. My second attempt at a game is looking a bit better anyway. I've also recently read the owner of the game is still receptive on walking people through faults, will be considering this next time I run into an issue and can't solve it. Issue seems to be your save file exists as 4 separate files in order to generate(I assume) your current team, character, the current game state and I'm not sure what the file is. The most common issue I keep running into is these files getting fractured from each other and need to be manually moved. My first review of the game(Made after 20 hours, still valuable when looking above I think): There's a fun sim hidden in here but you need to dedicate a lot and just wait until your save file blows up, I figured it couldn't be that bad if the creators went onto create other things but this shouldn't have a price tag attached to it until it works. To the creators, this is cheapest way to experience your games as a baseline of sorts, instead of just downloading this for free to see what it's about and buying a newer release this having a price tag just leaves a sour taste in my mouth when considering if I want to try a newer release that should be fixed, is this your standard I can look forward to if I give you my money again? Now. What I think you should take is this game is capable of taking a reasonable person and putting them in a position they think is terrible in a state where you've lost hours of effort you're not likely to be very happy. The game itself shouldn't be an issue after you've taking that emotional roller coaster, it's not that hard of a game to figure out how to play and if you dig just a little bit the product is 100% worth it.

This game has potential but the bugs make it unplayable

It's such a good simulation basketball game. However, what is the point if it keeps crashes and you lose everything? I was hoping to get through a season at least. Nope, 30 games in and poof can't get into the game anymore. Such a shame as I really enjoyed playing the game.

I decided to buy this after playing Pro Basketball 2014, the only other available one on Steam. I'm in love with simulation games, and this one fits the bill for a decent basketball simulation. There are very cool options to tinker with, such as simming seasons that date back to 1978. So you can create a very interesting team during the process, though I don't like how the coaches do not reflect the actual coaches of the time, they're randomly generated. Despite some of these setbacks, I very much enjoy other options, like the draft, trades, and free agency. It can be tedious, but also very fun. The biggest problem with this game is it's instability. I've had to restart plenty of simulations because of crashing that happens on my saved seasons. Even keeping as many as 8 save files I use during that simulation, they can all be destroyed a game-breaking crash. Unfortuntely, this happens more than I'd like. If I had to give this game a score, it'd be about 7.5/10. It's gotten me up to 100 hours of entertainment at this point, and for the price tag, I feel that it's worth it. This score would be moved much higher if the developers were able to fix the stability issues with the game. All in all, a very enjoyable game!

The game isn't as full featured as OOTP Baseball or even FHM for hockey. But the game isn't terrible. Still could use a bit of work to fix the crashing and i'm not sure in the 2018 version fixed this. Overall, it good but could be better.

I purchased this game because a love sports simulation games, especially basketball. The first few hours of the game went without a hitch. As I proceeded past my first season, the game became extremely buggy. I couldn't progress my season at one point, various crashes, etc. At that point, I asked Steam for a refund. Unfortunately, my gametime played was too much. I would not recommend purchasing this game due to the stability. The concept is great, some aspects are good but the reliability is bad.

I do enjoy sports sims like this, but I spent about 4 hours with the game and I just couldn't get past the horrible UI. There might be a good game hidden in there someplace, but I didn't have the patience to find it.

All in all it looks like a good game , building a franchise seems interesting , wanted to see the draft, the basketball part looks iteresting, approachable for a beginner but still deep. prsentation is good with minor kinks. (why do i have to watch the d.league draft? ) all in all game looks very interesting and coud suck one in. But that all doesnt help when the frequent crash make the game so unstable its basically unplayabe so i basically had to shelf a very dencent game now and have a slight hope something gets fixed after all. Can treally recommend it in this state , it looks so good its even more disappointing its crashes on you permanenttly :-(

I have searched and searched for a Basketball Computer Sim game and finally my search is over. Draft Day Sports: Pro Basketball 2017 is as good as it gets for Basketball sims in the market right now. I play Football Manager and OOTP Baseball, so I know that there are some very high end gaming products out there, but there is nothing for Basketball. Yes the game has a long way to go to catch up with the likes of Out of the Park games, but it still offers you a fairly decent game. The modding community is small but there is enough out there for you to customize your game to look pretty much like the real NBA universe. It offers a full NBA league with all the current players, stats and more, plus the NBA D-League and Euro league. The 2D feature is decent enough for playing out games, where you can sub players and make other strategic decisions a coach needs to make during a game. Like I said, this game has a lot of potential going forward, but If you're a real basketball fan you will not be disappointed.
