Holo Impact : Prologue Reviews

I like this game quite a bit. Its hard. Sometimes there's bullets coming from literally every direction and it feels like you are doomed to die. Still really like the game, just wish there was difficulty settings.

Holo Impact is an action packed arcade space shooter. I see it as a combo space invaders/galaxians/asteroids in VR. I like the sound and the graphics and it seems to run smoothly for me (i7 4790k and 980ti). I love this, gfx are done well, reminds me of an old arcade shooter, except you in space, no floor, and remote controlling a fighter ship.

VERY VERY GOOD It's about time. though not deep (and I like some depth) ITS IS ADVERTISED AS A ARCADE GAME. So that's explanitory. It is exciting, it is gratifying, it is fun and a LITTLE tiring. I had to move my controller from hand to hand because I found I was gripping it so hard. I also like that I'm not punching around so I don't hit furniture. Graphics are as good as you can get in VR. I would like a antialiasing option (the edges are a little gritty). I would also love to have the old ARCADE "attract mode" where a playing demo explains the game. It says primary and pad to... and disappears. Took me 3 games to see what it said about 2nd weapon. Still didn't know how to use 2nd weapon until 4th or 5th play. I'm currently 6th place on steam scores! But then probably only 6 people have it at this early date ;-) Great game to have in your collection. Some things confuse me still - I get to around 3rd or 4th boss area and LASERS come out (4 green) are they mine? or on me? does that mean get out of the way? I suppose like all ARCADE games you begin to learn the order/pattern and will memorize your way through the game. (I'm not good at that). But it's a great distraction and at 15.00 (on sale now at 12.00) A VERY GOOD VALUE. Oh I'd also like a way to jump right back in - while I love the intro... I've seen it 6 times now and want to get playing again without the formalities. But that is part of what you get for your quarter in the arcades. Extremely professional, extremely polished... It's much better than GunJack - though similar... it's a combo of GUNJACK and XORTEX (in the lab demo... which I really liked, but I don't like all the hassle to get into it). If they added more depth... maybe a story and some more weapons - it could become a 29.95 game. There is a lot more VARIETY in this than the other two predicessors. The scenery is always changing as you are moving forward through space... so the enemy types change. I was pleased to see the ships give way to turrets and missiles - even the occational asteroid.

A cross between a rail shooter and "The Lab"s Xortex; pretty good looking with reasonable detail and a cool space battle backdrop. It's good fun but it's also really hard.

Fun arcade shooter. I know I don't have much with it, but what I did play, I can tell is one of those games you will see at the HTC arcades. Graphics are nice, I didn't get no judder (1080, I7-6700k, 16 gb, 2.5 repro, and steamvr beta) Fast intense action. I think is one of those games you can show of, and because it's an arcade type game, you can share with friends. The price is okay, but $9.99 would of been better.

Very impressive shoot em up. Whats not to like? As already said elsewhere if you enjoyed the Zortex demo in the Lab you will enjoy this 'grab the little spaceship and shoot' as the next step in pace and variety Good stuff! Graphics are about as good as anything I have encounted in VR. It is fast and tricky Lots of of things in motion and heading your way! Very 'one more try.....' After playing this you may find 2D shoot'em ups just don't do it for u anymore! Not so good I may be incorrect but, as far as I can see you have to sit thru the selection and launch opening sequence everytime you play a game Note I do not mean simply selection from your steam library , but everytime you get the 'Game over' message, back you will go to the opening sequence. Although this maybe authenttic to the Arcade genre, the fact is I ain't playing this in an Arcade but in my garage / VR room and there should be a means to overide this restriction Summary Less than £10 (opening offer) happy with this purchase

1. graphic - COOL! absolutely one of the best. 2. music - Good. but need to be polished 3. sound - Not Good, some sounds is poor and lock on sound is too sharp and need to be polished 4. gameplay - average, not bad. but kind of bland would be better if it is REZ or DEXED style (in my opinion) 5. optimization - not good, i7 6700k/980ti/64gb ram/ it judders frequently on normal setting Overall. it has potential but, i cannot recommend right now. and gameplay is not very good. not bad but, not very fun. first time fun, second time normal, third time. little boring. after third. just don't want to play.

I already love a lot about this game! It is finally something I dreamed of for a long time, a shoot em up in VR! Pro: It looks very good! There is no problem with motion sickness (at least for me)! It is simpley fun! If you like shoot em up's, BUY IT! This is something totally different than the wave shooters that are still thrown at us every day! Con: It regularly crashes (MSI 1070, 6500k, 16GB). My"HUD" is almost completely out of my field of few!? I can't beat the first boss! :-( Especially when i lose one life I can hardly kill a single "drone" of that boss! :-( Please change it, that you always have to watch the start sequence after a "game over"! Question for the Devs: You made that a very very nice open space shoot em up! Would it be possible to do a game like that in a closed environment like in an "R-Type" or "Section Z" on the NES or Arcade systems space station? The tunnel in the starting sequence already looks like what I am thinking of. Or are there problems that I am not thinking of? I would be very interested in something like that, I so love those alien-space-station optics!

Wow, this game is a very intense arcade shoot-em-up. It plays exactly like one of the demo in Lab. The graphic is good and flashy and the boss fight is epic. It you like Xortex 26XX in Lab demo, this is the upgrade for it with more variety of enemy and boss fight. Love it very much.
