A very good point and click game. Your character goes to visit her grandmother, who is nowhere to be seen. You stay at your grandma's house and teach yourself how to make potions, cook, play with the cat, pick ingredients, and rummage through the basement. You have to eat an apple a day to get good sleep. Otherwise, your character will wake up without 110 stamina, which you need to do tasks. You can make food and potions to give you more stamina to last longer when doing chores and other things. The Herbalist takes a while to get going, but once you get the hang of doing things the game is quite fun. I would not pay full price for it though. Nice graphics, ok music. A game to pass the time with. Two thumbs up.

Its an okay game. Its fun figuring out the potions but thats about it. It takes ages to get money to buy stuff, which you have to pass so many days and spam sell all of the flowers. I dont know. Maybe I didnt understand the game much lol. I bought it on sale, so I would say it was worth the price on sale, was hoping there would be something better in this. I also didnt realize the sexual/lewd side to this either, which I ended up just getting the censorship pack in the workshop. I also found it funny if you didnt eat a whole week or so a French Cuthulu arrives from your stove. great touch. But as far as that, it gets extremely repetitive and theres not actually that much to do, since most potions are made with the same things and nothing else really works.

The Herbalist is a super cute, short, puzzle, virtual novelish game. The gameplay consists of gathering herbs/shrooms from the garden, making potions, cooking, and selling your creations for money. I definitely recommend playing this if you're looking for something chill and you're into Slavic waifus. However, there are two very important things to note when playing this game: 1. After playing for some time, your steam queue will be FILLED with hentai games (lol) and 2. Apples are mas importante! Keep at least 1 in your inventory at all times!

You're a cute girl experimenting with potions and cooking. There's a cat. Pretty easy once you figure out how the herbs have been randomized and see the patterns for crafting items. I had fun deciphering the made-up alphabet, even though it's not required. Relaxing soundtrack and good vibes overall.

This game is a bit tedious, to be honest, but it has enough good parts to it that I was able to get past the initial slog. Until you can obtain a few choice items (either by purchase or discovery) making any money at all is next to impossible, and money is necessary for both sustenance and supplies. In addition, the mere act of picking flowers takes energy, which gets annoying when you're trying to get enough for certain upper-level potions. Beyond that, there are some quests to complete, which involve more potion-making and finding stuff, but since that's why the game exists, there it is. There is nudity, as the game tags indicate, but it's rare and often used for humorous purposes. Only prudes and folks from certain Puritanical countries would find it offensive. The only true negative for me was that in my queues of games that might be of interest in the store page, I've recently been getting a slew of Japanese games that all feature nudity and sexuality that are not my cup of tea. I hate the notion that buying one game with a nudity tag automatically makes the Steam algorithms presume that those are ones I might be interested in. They're not. Other than that, I suppose the game is just good enough to be recommended, but only barely.

I enjoyed this game a lot. :D It basically consists of gathering herbs and mushrooms around the forest, brewing potions or cooking meals in the house, and then selling them by the shop. The crafting system is a lot of fun and keeps you hooked. It took me around 5 hours to reach the end and I haven't figured out all the recipes yet. I'm also missing a few CG scenes (which are a very nice addition to the game). There are also a lot of achievements. The amount of content is satisfying and the game feels well-polished. :) Kudos to the developers, this is a very fun and pleasant game to play.

The Herbalist is worth buying at full price if you enjoy relaxing completionist puzzle games, and definitely a good purchase when on sale. It is also available for free outside Steam, without the achievements and trading cards. You play as Slavya, a young herbalist looking for her Grandma. The gameplay involves foraging (picking herbs, and searching the barn for ingredients), and combining items to create consumables. Energy, which is required for completing tasks, can be obtained by eating food, petting the cat, or having an apple in your inventory at the end of each day. As you complete your potion library, you advance in your quest to find Grandma. The 64 achievements will require you to either play multiple times, or play past the end of the story. After playing the game through once, the early stages become very easy to complete again. You may need a guide to finish them, as some of the hidden achievements are quite obscure. The unlockable CGs include nudity, but there is no explicitly sexual content. The game also has two free DLCs: one Halloween-themed, and one winter-themed. The Halloween DLC is quite short. The winter DLC is more rounded out, and adds a side storyline. They include an extra CG each. The game can be played through from the beginning with the DLCs installed, though I'd probably recommend completing the story before playing them. As this game is primarily point-and-click, disability should not hinder your enjoyment of the game. Colour-blind people may have some issues discerning the difference between certain potions, but each potion has labels which can be checked in the recipe book. The amount of content, particularly with the free DLCs, makes the game a worthwhile purchase for fans of simple puzzle games. It's not a visual novel as such, but may also be enjoyed by some fans of the genre.

Oh my gosh, I love this game! I thought I had reviewed it already but haven't. Guhh! It's sooo cute. And pervy. And addictive. Though admittedly the controls were a bit wonky/awkward to figure out at first... I had to go into the Discussions forum on Steam here to figure out some of them. But once I got them figured out, it was smooth sailin'...! A few things to note: - achievements! lots of them! this is awesome! adds more re-play-ability for nuts like me - cards to collect! yeh!!! - a few patches you can DL in the Steam Workshop including a Halloween patch, Christmas patch, rune translation patch, and *cough* nudity patch *cough* :D (yayyy tiiits!) - great artwork! - relaxing music! - funny AF - cute and pervy - addictive! you will want to gather all the things. make all the potions. - not only can you sell the potions for $$ in the game, but you can also drink them! hilarity ensues when you nearly get molested a few times and/or turn into certain...creatures. xD So yeah, I would hiiiighly recommend this game. I hope the devs continue to release bonus content and patches in the Steam Workshop, because I would love more! A+++!!

Pleasant, comfy, Slavic waifu potion brewing simulator. If that description piques your interest, go ahead and grab it. Not sure how it'll do on replayability for most (potion recipes are randomized each play), but I can see replaying it occasionally in the future, myself, after I manage to beat it. In the past I've tended to ignore experiential games, but comfy is comfy and aesthetic is magnetic. I hope this studio makes more little games like this in the future.
Quick Review
This game can be broken down into these things: [olist] [*] Simple (almost non-existent) story [*] Brewing potions with formulaic recipes that are easy to pick up on [*] Relaxing soundtrack [*] Cute homely aesthetic [*] Collecting of resources [/olist] Gameplay Gameplay consists you, Slavya, collecting/harvesting resources from the forest or your house's basement on a daily basis. You can then combine these ingredients to either cook food to sell at the market/eat it, or brew potions to use/drink/sell. Potions are the main meat of the game, with 4 Levels of potions. You essentially combine other potions to make higher level potions which you can then sell and see which ones work. Drinking some of these potions can lead to interesting albeit short cutscenes. Verdict Get it if you want a nice relaxing game to play in your freetime. It's well worth the money
