although the game is super cute, unless you get it on sale i can't recommend. i beat the entire game in 0.8 hours, and the only reason this didn't get returned was it was too late. cute for a teenager/kid probably! but too simple for me

Rose of Winter is an Otome Visual Novel with multiple endings.
This game has great characters that have a lot of variety to them, both in personality and physiques. I wouldn't consider this a 'dating game' really, but it's a good VN nevertheless. You are training to become a knight and you find yourself in a tavern, having four potential princes to escort through Mount Needle. All four routes are obviously worth doing, each unique and great on their own, even if the main concept of going through a snow/surviving in a cave/fighting/reaching the city is repeated in each routes.
The choices could have a bit more impact and the endings could definitely have been longer, but the game was still enjoyable nonetheless. One of the endings in particular was really nuanced.
As far as the art goes, it is alright... It's charming and cute for sure, but the landscapes are very detailed whereas the leopard and the dragon are uh... a lot simpler in design? It is quite easy to tell that multiple artists with different art styles worked on this game. It comes to no surprise that the music of Rose of Winter is great... it's composed by Toby Fox (the composer of Undertale and Deltarune.) I have to say that while the OST is great, there aren't enough songs and some of them aren't used optimally with what's happening in the story.
As far the as the cons goes, well hunting for the endings is never a fun task (honestly it was just picking the opposite options from the first playthrough, but yeah.) The only noticeable bug I've experienced is that skipping dialogues overlapped 2-3 songs at once, that was quite chaotic and ear blasting! Other than that I don't really have any other negative comments about the game, it's well made.
Overall, a charming 3~ hours long Visual Novel game with great characters and music. Recommended from me.
