Very disappointed in this DLC. The Game, Tales of Berseria, didn't even work. Did I just waste $9.99??? Very disappointed for this reason.

Pricing on the first two DLC's are weird- would have been willing to pay twenty bucks for the "Costume Pack" but it's only ten dollars. Would have been willing to pay ten bucks for this pack but it's twenty dollars. Still bought both, still evens out, still regret nothing; it's just weird. Could make playthroughs subsequent to the initial one smoother so grinding isn't as necessary.

Given that harder difficulties decrease experience gain, this presumably pay2win dlc provides more than just an easy waltz to Berseria's end. The various perks included are usually unlockable in-game after an initial playthrough, however, using these items allow players to undergo difficulties beyond moderate right away.
Some may be turned off by the notion of cowardice, but if used with the intention to ramp up rng and difficulty, it can add a layer of newfound satisfaction to an already enjoyable battle system. Ten dollars would have sufficed, but I still recommend it to those wanting to begin at hard to intense difficulties on their first go.

There's two sides when you bought this DLC. On the plus side, it's a worthy spent buying these enhancement items to make the game much easier to play at any time, either you played it from the start or on the progress of the game. While on the minus side, it is... Too Easy... It makes the gameplay a bit dull and boring knowing that you could beat your enemy with just a slash, buying the equipment with ease and no effort whatsoever and it's just simply OP for buying this DLC for 20 bucks.
But still, you can equip this DLC in case you need some boost, all of which can be done individually.

$20 dollars to play the game on easy mode.
Well maybe that's a bit harsh. The added benefits in this pack can be picked out of. So say, you just want the little stat boosts of the herbs with increased gold but no increased exp? Then there ya go.
Is it WORTH $20? Depends. If you know for sure you'll play this game again and again, or if you just want to experience the story at a faster pace - then yes, it is worth it to you.
To the average gamer? Probably not.
Me, I bought it cause I hate grinding gold in RPGs. This makes it easier. Wish it was $14.95 instead of $19.99 but meh, $5 won't make or break me.

Wanted to play a second time, and this is nice to have. I bought it on the winter sale, so it was 10 bucks, and that seems fine for a subsequent run through the game.

Great game, misleading pack. The first 8 bonuses do not stack with NG+ bonuses in any way, they actually simply take those same bonuses and make them require 0 Grade. They do work on regular runs, but nothing in this pack implies NG+ will not stack in any way with these bonuses, aside from the obvious boon of not requiring the Grade.

At half price, it's a steal. There are many items in here that turn the game into super easy mode, but also some items that simply help with grinding without unbalancing the game.
To clarify, the game is perfectly doable at hardest difficulties without this DLC, even on the first play through, and while this DLC will make it much simpler, it is by no means required.
For helping with the grind, before beating the main game, I'd suggest double grade & gald and max item expansion. Double XP & skill booster, as well as the +HP/Levels will make the game feel less like a game and more like an interactive story which may be unwelcome to those who still wish a degree of challenge.
Double grade and gald just reduce the grind, rather than overpower you. Double XP theoretically ought to do the same, but you're unlikely to reduce battles to 50% like you'd think due to the various benefits of battle... thus, very quickly you'll out-level the pace of the game.
And, just to for assistance of anyone reading, the less obvious items listed provide the following benefits.
Skill Booster, literally just halves the requirements for artes which means you unlock things much sooner than you ought to. Again, in my opinion, overpowering you compared to the pace of the game; but again, fine if you are more concerned about story than any sort of minutely challenging gameplay or perhaps find world encounters monotonous.
Max Item Expansion Only increases the cap of consumables. I.e 30 life bottles instead of 15. Not materials or ingredients which cap at 99.
Growth Enhancement sets both give a selection of herbs that increase various stats Green provides the basic ones you can find (in very limited quantities) from the start of the game, and the red variant the upgraded versions you wouldn't normally find until mid-game.

Recommending this is a mix. It is a good idea to have some of the items it offers if you are after certian things in the game. However if you are on your first play through then I will highly not recommend it. It will make the game boring as hell if you use a good sum of the items it offers. I beat the game awhile back without using it and the game is beatable without it. Just saying using it would be cheating and cheating normally makes any game boring real fast.
On a side note, there are some items that are worth getting. Like increasing how much things you can carry, double grade, and skill booster. The rest are over powered and not really needed.
