Great for nostalgia and if you want to play a fun and fairly simple game without having to think too much. Runs fine for me on 3440x1440 ultrawide, suprised such an old game would work in this resolution

Not the best tycoon game by a long shot but still good for what it is and admittedly I enjoy it as a fun nostalgia trip into my childhood

I can't recommend this game to anyone because the graphics are not in HD like Industry Giant 2. This might be a very old game but It has a ton of problems that the devs should have been addressed before they released It. They also haven't released any details on the version at all.
DISCLAIMER: This is a first impressions review, and NOT a full review
Industry Giant is a game developed by QLOC and published by UIG Entertainment/Toplitz Productions The game offers some really nice graphics and a nice yet simplistic aesthetic which is pleasant all the same and has some amazing attention to detail even though it is a little rough around the edges The game does suffer with some repetitiveness at certain areas of the game but a fun game nonetheless and ends just at the right time Industry Giant overall, however, is an okay game to play, yet sometimes repetitive and it does get boring if being played for a long time, but is an okay simulation sandbox game to play in short bursts!
RECOMMENDED :)
REVIEW SOURCES:

None

Now I remember the pain I would receive from this game. The pathfinding of your trains and trucks is just pure hell. I recall having games it was great and wonderful runs where I got rich! I could manipulate cities! But then after playing it again I remembered that 7 out of 10 times your trains or trucks would end up stuck in a loop or broken. With no pause button you would loose months trying to fix small issues where your deliveries would get stuck. The random seed maps would produce all diamond mines with no other way to add gold for the rings you needed. Random seed maps were half the time designed to fail you. It is a true and honest port of the original, and stable! I'm running Win 10 on a large 1080 monitor. It works fine, no bugs, no issues, no suprises. The only surprises are those I had back when I bought it in the late 90's. Crap pathfinding. To recommend or not... hummm. If you loved the original with all it's late 90's issues.. sure, go for it. But if you are looking to spend a few hours having a fun game.... eh... no your going to be stuck spending four or five playthroughs until you get lucky with the right map and the right luck. So.. for what it is, a port of an original.. sure... it gets a recommended. But as for my play time.... it's not going up very much more for a long while.

Nice to know this game is on Steam and not just a digital release. The original release has been victim to the 32-bit death-plague with the amount of 64-bit machines out there, so it is nice to see the game cater to that. To help, the graphics are corrupt for high resolution and widescreen, however this is fixed by changing your desktop resolution to 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768. Thankfully the game is intact, but that's pretty much it. The game is hard and loads of trial and error and taking advantage of some of the features in the game, like using unsold stock at a store and transporting them elsewhere for example which can help you win a task more quicker. It is a late 90s game that can be frustrating and you would want to just get this over and done with. Thankfully, Industry Giant 2 has fixed many of the issues found in the first game, like requiring you to have loads of space for a pre-set layout for a train station for example, because in this game, you start with one platform but then you forget you need two or three more but have no space for them, so you're screwed and this can cost you a mission, so careful. I still recommend it especially considering the sequel is on another space but it a shame you have to put up with the design issues the game has.

This is nothing but a port of the original game so expect nothing new and nothing to be fixed. But still worth the price for what you get. I recommend this game for anyone looking for a small challenge to pass the time on a lazy afternoon. The scope is limited and the learning curve is non-existent. Simply read up on available (in-game) products at the beginning of a session, create a model of the first industry in your mind, then execute it before the AI decides to use your same spot. The game has run without any graphics issues for me (32" curved samsung, Windows 7) but all of the old bugs are still present. This game is very basic and will not take long to master with limited products lines, no advertising, and no way to mess with your opponent (beyond destroying trees around a lumber yard they are using or paying to destroy a town that is home to their flagship product). Worth the money for the fun it still brings and certainly worth it on sale.
