Caesar 3 is a relaxing and invigorating old game, good for those of us who enjoy building and planning. There are a couple of sound glitches, but they can be ignored.

A timeless classic, the best game in the series that is still relevant 25+ years later, also do yourself a favor and download the Augustus mod, an epitome of how a community can make a great game even better.

Short review : Awesome city builder game - much ahead of its time --> Although i would highly recommend to install the "Augustus" open source and free mod after installing this game - cuz this game is kinda messy in terms of its walker mechanism (this game without the mod hates intersections - it messes with distribution of goods and services very badly). That Augustus mod GREATLY fixed all problems and also adds new mechanism, helpful infrastructure and contains new levels as well so its highly recommended (Youtube : How to install caesar 3 augusut mod). But i'll explain the juice of this game --: How to beat this game (Paragraph warning) : Basically throughout the game you need to setup your exports industry which you need to check "empire map" to see which nearby nations would trade with you, and what they would trade (and also the quantity) - and plan your export industries accordingly as soon as possible in the level(most of the times this would be the first thing you would do after setting up some houses to get some workers). 1 more tip - you need to learn designing housing blocks to maximise population and prosperity for your population as early as possible. This is common mechanics of the game - and now this game is divided into two types of levels - Peaceful/mostly peaceful levels and 2nd is Military levels Peaceful/mostly peaceful levels : Here you need to pay special attention to economy and demands of the emperor(the emperor requests good that you are manufacturing/importing - and if his demands are not fullfilled for long - he will send army to destroy your city which is mostly more powerful than your army - and hence the game is over at this point - although if you have strong army you will be able to defeat the first wave of emperor'r army). Alongside economy and demands of emperor - usually the challenge in these levels will be prosperity (the quality of your housing) - and you will have to learn how to evolve houses(basically by giving them food, then pottery, access to temple, furniture and more... ) this you can do by learning to design housing blocks carefully with planning otherwise you wont be able to evolve the house to next level later in the game. Military levels : Now in these levels you need to pay special attention to military invasions - depending on difficulty level - you may have to start building a military at the very start of map (Very important tip - you wanna build your army as close to the center of the map as possible, because armies takes time to move - and if they do not reach enemy in time - enemy would already have destroyed significant parts of your city/factories and your game's progress will be pushed behind to quiet an extent) There are other targets too like population, culture(temples and school acade my etc) and some other targets too - but i've already discussed things in detail and rest you are free to explore. Best of luck and 1 warning : There is a very high chance that you will fall in love with this timeless masterpiece <3
