MAGIX Video deluxe 2017 Plus Steam Edition Reviews

Ive used this program for a stupid amount of time. More than most of my games...combined. As a content creator, this is a simple, yet effective editing software for creating quality content. There are a lot of pre-made effects in here to help spice up your videos, regardless of your experience with past video editing (if any at all). I also have to mention that I came across this in a bundle with a photo editor as well, so if you are looking for a way to make thumbnails or anything else on Youtube, its not a bad deal for you to consider.

If you pay 15-20€, then yeah. I could recommend this. It is a good amateur video editing software. It lacks plenty of modern editing tools, but it works with most filetypes and you have a wide variety of settings to fiddle with. What's not good about this, is the stability, and it even messes up steam for me a lot. For example while I'm writing this, I don't have the software running, yet steam asks me to shut it down if I'm using my laptops client to start other programs elsewhere. I haven't used this program for 705 hours, I've used it propably some 70-80 hours, max. But this software just doesn't always shut down completely, and I need to mess about in task manager, and steam. Because sometimes it has been shut down from the computer, but not from steam so I also need to restart steam a lot. I chose to vote for no to recommendation, because I currently have a need for a more professional program. If this program would work better I might be able to use this for my needs still, but alas the constant crappynes is swaying my decision elsewhere...

I've had nothing but problems using this software - right now I cannot even load a movie file. I give up. I regret purchasing it. I hope you will be luckier than me.

Pésimo, se crachea a cada rato, leento.... no gaste su dinero en esto... hay otros softwares de este tipo mucho mejor y más barato.

The screen capture on the software works very nicely. The video editing and rendering is quick and painless. Overall, this software is great and easy to use. Don't trust the bad reviews, this product works as advertised. So support the developer, you'll be glad to you did.

Been using Magix 2016, while I did not Legitimately own the software it was a good consumer video converter. Now having purchased MAGIX Video deluxe 2017 Plus Steam Edition. It has limited capabilities in short you can't get newer plugins for effects from their store, as the only content is what you get with the purchase. I've seen many negative reviews about the program itself freezing. The program is choosy with the container it wants to read I tested two HEVC encoded videos , one contained in .mkv and one contained in .mp4, it didn't want to export the mkv file resulting in a 2 minute freezing of the program. Do I Recommend MAGIX Video deluxe 2017 Plus Steam Edition? Yes, It's a cheap got it during Autumn Sale 2017 for $7.94 priced accordingly to my region.( Which made it more attractive as buying from the retail site would cost me more). Now for the Bad Reviews I've been reading , Magix does it work and works as advertised. Now A few problems arise that make the program confusing: 1) Why is this one cheaper than the other 2017 deluxe advertised on steam? -I really don't know but according to the reply I got this one is the better version. 2) The program does not exit properly on steam, and the process remains in the task manager. - Easily solvable by doing the following. A.) Open the videodeluxe.ini, which you find under the following path: C:\Users\*Username"\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Videodeluxe23_steam\ B.) Search for the section [MobileSync]. C.) Set [MobileSync] Flags=0 and save the videodeluxe.ini. I don't know why they never bothered to patch a single digit change though in the program defaults. In Summary: Cheap and affordable. Don't trust the bad reviews they are mostly early adopters who had have problems which were fixed in the latest patches. You probably need to change some file formats for it to be read by the Movie Maker(Maybe use Handbrake). There is also a steep learning curve take note of that.

Look at how many hours I have in this software! It's one of my most "played" games on Steam... because you can't actually turn it off. Even if you close out of the program it says it's still running. To ACTUALLY close the program, you have to: 1) Close Steam 2) THEN go to your Task Manager 3) End the process from there It doesn't show up in the Task Manager until you close Steam. It's such a hassle. Hopefully someone sees this review just so they don't log another 100 hours into this. Magix, please fix your software.

Unable to recommend this software. I've owned this software for at least two years and use it very little. For the price it should at least compete with the free apps that are available. I use a particular app that I use the most isn't even for video editing and it's free. No matter what my reason for starting this application up for is, I have never been able to completely realize the vision without first finishing the project with a completely different application.

I recently bought this software since I'm in the need of a "self-sufficient" movie editor for my own projects (either tutorial, training and slideshows) and up to now, I found it's stable to me since the recent updates. I'm on Win 10 64 bits with 8 gb ram with Intel HD Graphics (that's what my laptop has) and works fine to me. I made a quick export with default settings for a short slider and the rendering process worked good to me. I'm not very professional at video/audio stuff and it's good to have a replacement for Windows Movie Maker (since the Win store apps there's not a good editor for me). Once i've said it, I would primary use it for joining my screencast from action mirillis and my audio (mostly voiceovers, previously edited with audacity) and then movie edit pro would do the rest. I like the fact that includes several effects,transitions and audios (.ogg format) and video correction (white balance,coloring and so on...), the only down-side I found it's that when I tested the trial from official website, it has an access to a downloads manager where you open it and the internal browsers points to nowhere,so you can't get extra files as expected. My question would be... are they included natively with this "Steam version"? or is it a shorten version in a rude manner to make you buy (again) the software from the official site?. This version includes a bit more "options/content" than the standard and pro editions, so it's worth to give a try and if is not for you, you can return it back to steam through their internal process. I will be testing around the software and let's see what I can get from this =)!

If you want this product to actually work, then do not buy it! The UI is horrible, it resizes everything you don't want it to and the ability to scroll and zoom in and out the time line simply stopped working. I even recorded a video to send to the support for this product, but appearently to get support you have to play for a premium support package costing £9.99. Even though you already bought the software for slightly more then similar products on steam. I found the who process time consuming to do simple tasks such as resizing images, if you hide a bit of UI such as effects view, you can't get it back as the logical place to have it would be in the Window dropdown but it is not, still not found it! Editing text is buggy as hell, it always changes the text of the previous text you created and if you hit backspace to much in the text editor it goes mental and the text box goes in to the menu bar at the top of the software and adds the timeline object in a random location. I am really trying to enjoy this product but it has a lot of issues, I know I am not a pro editor of videos but it has been a struggle, I will be asking for a refund and buying a competitor brand instead, simply to get a UI that actually works! My timeline is stuck at 100% I cannot make minor changes of sizing due to the interface not working. As a new release I was expecting something much more polished.
