Much more charming than you'd think, and with an excellent classical music soundtrack. Easily worth playing. :)

It took me a mostly pleasurable 2 hours to complete this game. It's a nonviolent 'puzzle' platformer with a peaceful soundtrack and simplistic art style. I would recommend it to almost anyone that enjoys platformers that doesn't want to prove just how great they are at making pixel perfect jumps and tricks. You just walk over colored orbs, pick up random stuff lying around, and give/place it in other locations. The reward for going above and beyond is just more scenery (and a chievo.) The only major gripe i have is that the game cannot go into fullscreen mode and there was no way to fix it as of this writing. My work-around was setting my monitor to its lowest resolution (800x600) and playing the game windowed there.

The charming quality in this game comes from each minor interaction with all of game's tiny inhabitants. There is something delightful in hopping along in puddles with frogs, sitting by a fire as little beetles roast marshmallows, or startling a star-gazing cloak-thingy as Gebub the slightly perplexed animated something-or-other waddles past. I spotted this game by coincidence soon after it's release, and I'm glad I did. The game is perhaps just slightly priced at more than it offers, even to those who are enticed by the soothing imagery and the saccharine, primordial sadness of misplaced childhood, which the game does so effectively deliver over a period of approximately two hours. Gebub's Adventure is an injection of emotions akin to rediscovering a forgotten teddy bear shoved to the back of a closet.

The soundtrack is excellent, a very nice simple game that doesn't put any effort in explaining the world. Tell the octopus I said thank you

This is a beautiful and very atmospheric game. The transitions in the map between areas are seamless and creative. I love the art style and the thought that went into this game and enjoyed playing it quite a bit. I'd recommend this game to anyone, especially anyone who enjoys Studio Ghibli films.

It's criminal this game has just 13 reviews, so I'm going to do my part to fix that. Gebub's Adventure is a delightful light platformer that lasts about 60-90 minutes. You play as Gebub, an orb-egg thing, who needs to explore the world and collect orbs and make friends with various animals. The whole game is hand drawn, there are a bunch of different areas, the platforming is quite light and friendly, and there are no enemies. This is the perfect palate cleanser after a long or tough game. The art is adorable, the music is lovely, the environments are fun, there are lots of different little things to discover (I loved the roach catapult, I loved the mole family portrait, I loved the little guy who rescues you when you fall off a ledge in purple zone). Just a dense, fun, little thing! Highly recommended, and at $2.99 on sale ($4.99 regular), you could even buy a couple copies for friends!

This is going to be an unusual review. I bought this game expecting not to like it. I bought it because, from the screenshots, it looked extremely similar to Seiklus, one of my favorite freeware homebrew adventures. I've put in the time to complete it (about three hours). How do I feel about it now? Gebub's Adventure is far too close to call it merely "inspired by" or simply an homage, but it is distinct enough not to be a knockoff or remake. It's more like a reboot: knowingly and consciously derived from and incorporating elements of the original, but giving it a new spin. You start off in a grassy field populated with harmless widlife and oversized, climbable plants. It's immediately clear that your mission is to find all of the green orbs. You travel to other realms with other colors of orbs - a gray cavern populated by ghosts; a brown underground lit with lava; an undersea area populated by fish; the inside of a tree; a desolate, snowly landscape; a castle; and the inside of a creature. The realms are interconnected both by walking and by taking secret passages. Most orbs are easy to find, but there is a secret collection in hidden rooms. You eventually capture enough to escape through a portal, but if you've tried hard and found all of the orbs, you get sent to a special place with some more challenging jumps. All of that is *identical* between Seiklus and Gebub's Adventure. I mean, down to the letter. And it doesn't stop there: there's an elevator through lava that takes you to another realm; there's an outdoor scene with dramatic rain and lightning; there's a puzzle involving some birds... and some of the assets, like the beanstalks and the black hole, were so nearly identical that they initially looked like copied assets. (On closer inspection, it seems that everything is new.) So... what's new about Gebub's Adventure? All of the graphics and muscial assets. A few additions, like the flying / falling realm. Some neat new scenes, like penguins and mushrooms and falling through a vat of chemicals only to be rescued by - well, I won't spoil it. I ended up enjoying Gebub's Adventure more than I anticipated. It's neither the most clever game nor the most original, but it has heart. If only the author had thought to credit Seiklus (an offhanded shout-out to Cly5m doesn't count), this might be an easy recommendation. I"ll say: Definitely play Seiklus instead, and then buy this game if you want some more.

Oh my goodness, this has got to be one of the best Steam games ever. Let me start by saying this is not just a game that will capture the curiosity of a child, it is an amazing "boredom-buster" for adults as well. Today I was hunting for a game that would keep my mind busy and entertained, while my best friend was having a medical procedure done in the hospital. I was extremely nervous and scared, as soon as I started this game up; I was at peace in a heaven-like, dream-like wonderland. The music is absolutely amazing! First thing that came to my mind was "wow this game looks like a dream!" and it is! There is simply no downside to this game, you CAN NOT die! Despite some creatures that may seem a little scary and might make frightening noises, you will soon find that you must be somehow dreaming as nothing is really lethal and scary. There are dozens of items that need hunting for you to move on, so you will soon find yourself going on a treasure hunt. You never know what you might find! I dunno about other people, but this game is amazing to me. I recorded myself playing the game and sent the video to my friend in the hospital, she absolutely enjoyed it! Thank you, this is beautiful!

Gebub's adventure is a very calming fun little platformer. I originally picked up this game as a joke with it's silly name, but I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed the adventure. It's very simple, and once you beat it there's little left. While it lasts Gebub's Adventure is a pleasure to play.
