The Game looks like it's made in paint, also the music is very bad and obnoxious. If it had any new cool mechanics it would redeem it self, but it doesn't.
Official Information
Title: Black Sand Drift Status: Released Developer: Echo Hall Studios Publisher: Sometimes You Genre: Casual, Indie Release Date: Sept. 8, 2016
What's the Game About
The World is under the control of these mechanical dudes called Spiral, who collect this resource from the planet Kotiro called black Sand. You get tired of sitting around watching these guys take all your sand, so you decide to take action and kick their butts... only issue is... you kinda suck at fighting...
Pros
[+] Engrossing Sound Track [+] Huge Variety of Power-ups
Cons
[-] Overly Difficult Gameplay [-] Super Simplistic Graphics (some people may like it... I don't) [-] Confusing and conveluted story
My Final Score: 3/10
After nearly 10 hours, I have concluded that the Spiral can have the sand! I'm going to sit back and listen to the music whilest my world gets sucked away one grain at a time. Seriously, this game is an exercise in patience and will ultimately make you decide your better off without the frustration. The soundtrack is this game's main draw to me, and my hours came from enjoying listening to it while watching my character die over and over.

I really liked the music; it's actually what prompted me to buy the game. The gameplay is generic at best, some mildly interesting mechanics, but nothing likely to leap out at you. It's not bad, it's not good, probably priced fairly if you find yourself a big fan of this kind of thing. What sold me, honestly, was the music; I found there was some work put into the composition and I liked the opening theme a lot. I'll give a recommendation for that; as for the game itself, again, not good, not horrible. If there's an interest on the part of the devs to get their music out, I would make the game a freebie.

I was torn as to whether or not to recommend this game...until I started actually thinking through all the things I didn't like about it. tl;dr: The developer(s) tried their best, but failed to deliver an acceptable game. I guess if you want to spend $1 on a game, there are worse ones to buy, and the developers DID make some effort with updates/bug fixes; but I'd rather buy some candy. On a personal level, I did not enjoy the game at all. However, I'm not a big fan of shoot 'em up games, so I could see someone that likes both shmup games and games with simple designs (reminiscent of old-school flash games) having $1's worth of enjoyment playing this game. However, from my own perspective, the game itself is extraordinarily uninspired. From mechanics to AI, art to music (the music being one of the worst choices IMO), plot to user interface; everything was a negative for me. If you want details, I'll rant about the aforementioned issues below: Mechanics feel pretty goofy, but honestly it's the least notable issue in the game. However, since every other factor was negative, this was the game's one chance to get a thumbs up from me, and it missed the mark by not being interesting in the slightest. The enemy AI is completely disorganized. I get that at face value that's what you'd expect from bullet hells and the like, but there's always some kind of rhyme or reason to enemy movements in good games of the genre, and the enemies in this game are literally thrown in randomly on the screen. No set formations or anything, which also removes a level of depth that is taken for granted in a lot of games these days. The art is MS Paint level, which would have been forgivable if there were any other redeeming factors. The music felt like it was picked with literally no concern for its compatibility with the game. It's also obnoxiously loud at start-up when I played it with no volume control, which made me think at that point that I was getting trolled by the developers. The plot is paper-thin and not creative in the slightest. Long story short, it's just plain bad. I didn't like any menu, GUI, overlay, or anything of the like in the game. Whether it was art style, placement, available options, reactivity, or some other factor I forgot about, they were all either irritating or extremely unimportant.

Black Sand Drift is a unique and engaging shoot 'em up game that takes place in the Kotiro galaxy, where mechanical bots called Spiral have been oppressing the five planets and their citizens for over 300 years. In this game, you take on the role of a few brave heroes who decide to fight back against the bots and their relentless pursuit of the resource Black Sand. One of the standout features of Black Sand Drift is its heavy emphasis on characters and story, which is delivered through dialog-driven narrative that plays out over 25 levels in five different locations. The game also features a fantastic soundtrack consisting of 25 tracks, with guitars, bass, drums, and vocals, which is a rarity for games in this genre. The controls in Black Sand Drift have been intentionally tweaked to offer a smooth and responsive experience. While the game was created with the keyboard in mind, you can also use the arrow keys or a controller. The game also has separate local and online leaderboards to tackle, which will keep you engaged and motivated. Overall, Black Sand Drift is a great game that offers something wholly unique from anything you've played before. The graphics, music, controls, and story all come together to create an immersive experience that will keep you hooked for hours on end. I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves shoot 'em ups or is looking for a fresh and engaging gaming experience.

This game may not appeal to everyone, but if you enjoy simple yet challenging games, then this might be right up your alley. However, the music is not to my liking as it feels completely out of place. Despite that, considering the price, it's not a bad way to pass the time. The gameplay consists of random ships appearing for you to shoot, with shooting being an automatic process. The real challenge lies in avoiding getting shot or crashing into enemy ships. Additionally, there is a story to keep you engaged throughout the game.

I like the simple graphics and the out of place soundtrack. But the gameplay is really bad. There is no apparent design to the enemy formations, a level simply consists of the screen getting filled with the same enemies over and over again. Also: The developers try to sell you the missing gamepad support as a game design choice. This is really bad marketing.
