A fun 'beat em up' to play solo or with friends. I just finished New Game+ and enjoyed my time with the game. Takes a little getting used to because at the start it feels like you don't have much in terms of attacks, but once you figure out how to use the magic attacks and swap in and out allies, you can do some high level cheese to trounce your foes.
Also, even when you die, you get a little bit of XP to level up and you can keep your items and money found. You won't beat every level on your first try, but you will always be progressing toward your final goals.
Also, don't skip through the cutscenes and dialog, they are really funny.
Not having online co-op stinks, but as long as you know that before you buy, you won't feel burned.

Great game so far with good details and characters. The team that made this used to have a small mmo called Shadowtale which is now closed down but was a great game anyway. It is nice to see a lot of elements from that game in Duneon Punks but improved in many ways. Definitely a game worth buying

Repetitive.
You push the same button to do a triple attack combo. Later on, you can learn three magic spells that recharge via doing enough attacks. Occasionally you'll be able to unleash a special attack by collecting enough of these crystals that increase your rage.
And that's it.
...That is it.
There are six different characters, but the only difference between them outside of their magic attacks is what they look like, and some of them can only use specific weapons. You can play the game in co-op mode, but that just means you'll be dragging two of your friends to be bored with you as you all walk around mashing the same button, doing the same triple combo, and occasionally doing the same three magic attacks.
There's twelve levels. They're all the same design-wise. Walk around on flat fields. Get swarmed by a butt-ton of enemies. Kill them all to advance. NPCs have optional missions that usually amount to "Go find this thing/kill this amount of things/kill this mini-boss." And that's it. The end of the level is a giant monster or a giant thing. You kill it. You win. That's it. The final boss is nothing special. It's just another big thing you gotta kill. And you do. Then you win.
The biggest problem with this game is that no skill or tactic is required. You just mash all the same buttons until everything is dead. You can block a handful of attacks, but there's virtually no point because there are so many enemies on the screen that if you block one attack, chances are other enemies will attack you from behind or from afar anyway. There's no point in bothering to think tactfully with the weapons/shields you have because it all amounts to using whichever one has the most stat boosts. Leveling up is also broken; early weapons increase your attack power by fifty or more to make enemies a bit easier, but later on in the game, weapons can increase your attack power by over two thousand and the enemies are still a pain in the ass to kill and can drain your health very quickly. Because of this, you'll find yourself repeatedly exiting levels early and restarting from the beginning just so you don't lose the souls and currency you gained.
The plot/story is just there. You go around being ordered to kill giant things. You kill them. Even the final boss is just someone's "giant pet" and after it's gone, there's a boring cutscene where NPCs thank you and then cut to credits.
So yeah, those are my thoughts. Don't like it. Not worth the time or money. I've played monotonous games that are cheaper than this and got more out of them. I've played uniquely-designed and complex games that are cheaper than this and got more out of those. Even some of the games I've played recently that I don't like all that much cost less than this. And for an extra five or ten dollars, you can buy games like DUSK or Small Saga, both of which have so much more to offer than this.
This is a monotonous fifteen-dollar button-masher that gets old after the third level. Nothing else.

Having just found this game earlier tonight and decided to give it a shot because of the low price, I'm really digging it. It's very fun, the RPG elements are great, the beat 'em up side feels great, I like the cast you get to pick from, and the art is good, too. If they ever decide to add an online option for co-op or duels, I'd be able to test out multiplayer better, as I have no local friends to ask. But as it stands, I am glad I took a shot on this game. Any fans of beat 'em ups like Castle Crashers or Dungeon Fighter Online will be pleased.

Much better options available. Funky hit boxes. Tedious. Bugged/Glitched achievements. Gold is worthless. And, Dwarfs do not use magic.

Looks and plays like a free flash game from 2013 but this is not a free game. The gameplay is very repetitive and gets boring really quick. The artstyle conflicts which each other, female NPCs looks like wannabe anime girls from porn newground flash games while males look more like cheap cartoon characters. The monsters are very ugly and are reused too much. The story is really bad. Nothing is good about this game.
