Similar to a retro game called Star Flight on Mega Drive in the 90's.
Im kinda in the middle about this game really so:
Yes - A good game with some very good aspects.
No - Fast paced, quick fuel usage & crew morale issues which cost credits to keep lifted. Even a simple speech costs credits!!!!

way too hard!! fuel runs out almost immediately and everything destroys you too fast.the game itself is fantastic but it needs a creative/sandbox mode where you cant die so you can just enjoy exploring different systems.10/10 if you add this in definitely..

I managed to kill a woman at the Space Station. After that I realized that oops, you must learn the right keys and not randomly try everything. Obviously my crew and my self were destroyed to little bits into binary heaven.
Next game I warped near to an icy planet which had no resources, some artifacts which I had no clue what they are, so I took off. Some random ship decided to shoot me and succeeded. End of game number two. So this is one of those games you really need to look for tutorials to play. It's up to you is it a good thing or a bad thing.

Well, had a couple of hours with this now, I'm quite enjoying the random "am I going to meet something bad?" jumping between systems, maybe a map would be quite nice so we can jump back and finish off those bad guys that kicked our backside. Great "retro" fun, Frequently while I was playing it, mooncresta begin sequence was going through my mind!!!! cant get that damn noise out my brain now 8).
Developer seems to be always fiddling with the game and always voicing his views, good job. Thanks for this little gem.

This game is GREAT. I loved Starflight on the Sega Genesis and so far, this has come the closest to recreating the magic and wonder of that experience. The graphics and layout take me to a time when computers were new and exciting! The developer is still very dedicated and new updates are still being added. Highly recommended, with the caveat that the tutorial videos are a must, and the in-game link to these doesn't work. They are easy to find however. Overall, Avalon is the great retro experience I was always looking for and gave up finding long ago. What a pleasant surprise!

I've had some time with this game now and really having a good time. I am having more fun with this than No Man's Sky, don't say I said that ha ha. Space games are my thing and what I like is how the game is so randomized. So I played through about 7 games and each one was nothing like the last. In one game I jumped through 8 sectors, yes 8 without finding a single planet! It's pretty much an open ended experience and you can play it how you want without following some sort of storyline. There is so much to do here in this game I am still learning but I am catching on. It still feels like an early access title especially in some areas but I seen the game has had many updates since it was released. It is a little difficult at times but I like a good challenge anyway. I am hoping to see more of everything in this game as it progresses towards release. I would like to know when they plan on doing a final release. Right now I really like it and was surprised. So do I recommend it, sign says yes!
