I thought it was pretty decent until Rio's route, it feels rushed after that and there's too much unnecessary details that barely make any sense added in purely for shock value. There's too many plot holes too but overlooking all that it's worth a shot to buy during a discount.
A decent VN with simple choices and interesting story
These types of VNs sometimes give me the feeling of fitting like a glove - very much the reason I got into VNs in the first place I think! VNs and games like them often have quirky and ridiculous titles, but this one isn't as bad. 'Miniature Garden' is a nickname for a school that serves as the setting for this VN: some kids fall victim to the 'Seven Mysteries' of the school Festival, or whatever it is called, and depending on your choices you might die horribly or survive to one of the more fulfilling endings. One of the great things about this game is the lack of sexual content, and a very toned-down or even non-existent romance side to it. Sure there is a long-time opposite sex friendship, but there are hardly any references to the sort of lewd humour you usually get with this genre. Refreshingly, the story hardly touches on the 'girls teasing a boy' routine, relying more on its own momentum to carry you through the story. Add in the fact that there are only 7 endings, with achievements and choices just as simple, then it becomes more akin to the joy of enjoying a book, without the need to turn the pages, thanks to the Auto button. While the artwork is mostly only average, there are a few nice CG screens, but it would have been nice if there were a few more. It's a minor flaw in an otherwise excellent VN. My playtime is from working out 6 endings myself, I looked up the Allegory ending in a guide though, so I'm guessing 5 hours tops to fully complete the game. Time well spent.
