i think its a good way to get into driving a real car. i wouldnt use this as your only training tool, as nothings better than the real thing. But if you need to practice its not a bad game

It's a pretty good traffic sim and car physics and handling are rather realistic I'd say. Only wish there were more maps to drive in or a way for modders to add maps.

City Car Driving is a remarkably detailed driving simulator that prioritizes realistic urban driving experiences over arcade-style gameplay, making it a valuable tool for both aspiring drivers and simulation enthusiasts. Developed by Forward Development, the game stands out by emphasizing real-world traffic laws, vehicle handling physics, and diverse road scenarios that collectively create an immersive learning environment. Unlike many racing or driving games that focus on speed and stunts, City Car Driving puts players behind the wheel in a sprawling open-world city filled with dynamic traffic, pedestrians, and weather conditions, all designed to test and improve practical driving skills. The simulator covers a wide range of driving situations—from everyday city streets and complex intersections to highway merging and adverse weather driving—offering a comprehensive curriculum that mirrors the challenges faced by real drivers.
At the heart of the experience is the game’s sophisticated physics engine, which accurately models vehicle dynamics such as weight transfer, braking distances, tire grip, and suspension behavior. Each car in the game feels distinct, with differences in handling and response that require players to adapt their driving style accordingly. This realism extends to manual and automatic transmission options, realistic steering sensitivity, and the need to obey traffic signals, speed limits, and road signs to avoid accidents or penalties. The AI-controlled traffic behaves in a convincingly human manner, occasionally making mistakes or unexpected moves that require quick thinking and caution, further enhancing the simulation’s authenticity.
City Car Driving also includes a variety of customizable lessons and scenarios tailored to teach specific skills, such as parking, parallel parking, hill starts, emergency braking, and night driving. These structured modules are particularly beneficial for learners seeking to build confidence before hitting real roads. The open-world free drive mode complements these lessons by encouraging exploration and situational practice in a safe, consequence-free setting. Weather and time-of-day cycles add additional layers of complexity, challenging players to adjust to slippery roads, reduced visibility, and changing traffic patterns, which heighten the game’s educational value.
Visually, while the graphics may not rival the latest AAA titles, the game’s environments are detailed enough to create a believable urban atmosphere, with realistic road layouts, traffic infrastructure, and pedestrian behavior. The sound design, including engine noises, ambient city sounds, and traffic alerts, further immerses players in the driving experience. However, the game’s interface and controls, while comprehensive, can feel a bit technical or unintuitive to newcomers, and the learning curve may be steep for those unfamiliar with driving simulations. Some users might find the lack of a traditional career mode or more varied vehicle options limiting in terms of long-term engagement.
Despite these minor drawbacks, City Car Driving excels as a serious and effective driving simulator, providing a unique blend of educational content and open-ended exploration that appeals to learners and simulation purists alike. It’s an excellent resource for anyone looking to sharpen their driving skills, better understand traffic rules, or simply enjoy the nuanced challenge of mastering realistic vehicle control in a dynamic city environment. In essence, City Car Driving offers a rare combination of practical utility and engaging simulation that sets it apart from typical driving games and makes it a standout choice for those seeking authenticity and depth behind the wheel.

This game helped me stay focused when I got behind the wheel in just my second lesson. Improves attention and gets you used to driving, so you're less shocked the first time
