I have been playing this game off and on again since 2018 and have always just enjoyed it. The atmosphere and attitude is quite entertaining I mean who doesn't love all the silly characters and crazy scenarios you can encounter. This game will always be a ten out of ten in my book.

Nothing better than running an island ... into the ground. It's an eye opener for everyone not to make me the next El Presidenté.

I think its a great Anno/Cities: Skylines mashup. I like the tongue in cheek setting and themes. It plays well as a dictator or a traditional city builder. The gimmick is fun. I think happiness takes way too long to go up. I hate the road system. To curvy give me grids and 90 degree angles please. Housing system just blows. Fill up the vacant housing first then build your shacks, or create a heat map for where the best place is to place housing/entertainment/yada yada yada. Either its loosey goosey or really exact, this game is both. Multiple docks can mess up your whole island by confusing teamsters, but you move it a little then everything is fine. Its forgiving and fun, but also touchy and anal. Overall I really enjoyed it.

This is my new addiction. Help me. I'm $100,000 in debt and have 0% approval. Overall, a good game. Happiness ratings are a little scuffed though.

The magic is gone.
Played one or two of the previous titles.
Can't really say why but it just feels like the spark is gone.
Music is still great. Housing and shack management is still garbage.
Looks good, but that's why its kinda sad its not fun to play.

Tropic still having a lot of issues not fixed and they keeping add other things without fixing the known issues like: terrain degradation, select goods for export or not. Transportation issues etc. I am really disappointed.
A Caribbean Gem for Strategy Enthusiasts
Tropico 6 masterfully blends city-building with political satire, offering a unique experience where you can play as a benevolent leader or a cunning dictator. The game’s humor is sharp, and the missions are both entertaining and challenging. Managing multiple islands adds depth to the gameplay, and the vibrant visuals make ruling over your tropical paradise a delight. While the road-building mechanics can be a bit finicky, and the learning curve steep for newcomers, the overall experience is rewarding. If you’re into strategy games with a twist of humor and a dash of Caribbean flair, Tropico 6 is a must-play.
Frustrating
I've given this game more than it's fair shot, I've gone through all the campaign missions and a few sandbox games as well, and if there's one word to describe it it's frustration. I'll give quick points at the problems I had:
-No planning mode (hard to design cities without wasting a lot of money)
-Roads more or less force you to make rectangles and they can't be too close together
-Faction system is completely separate from happiness (I've had a faction revolt at 100% happiness before)
-Faction quests are very stupid (they'll demand a building you've already built plenty of or some other weird
nonsense that is frankly annoying)
-There are temporary modifiers on building (I've had the Conservative faction go from 70% happiness to 0%
because I built a bunch of windmills)
-Artificial difficulty in Campaign Missions; the town the game starts you with is designed to go bankrupt
every time
-No real or interesting win conditions in sandbox
-Campaign Missions have no real story or through line you just go onto the next one, and at the very last
mission they try to have something story wise and it's just awful
-Extremely lackluster decorations (that can also be destroyed by shacks btw)
-The whole is pretty wonder focused (the benefits they give are crazy) but that makes the game a little bit
boring as well, also the great wall of china doesn't work at all so that's annoying
I have most of the achievements in this game, a good amount of hours, and I feel I've done most everything. So there's something to be said that it kept me going and coming back at least a little bit, but that bit that kept me coming back never satisfied me and just kept leaving me well frustrated.

There's just no excuse for the sheer amount of bugs in this game for as many years as it's been out you can still have a car just "magically get stuck" forcing traffic to back up destroying the economy of the game and wasting hours of your time despite doing the scenario 'right" over and over.
