Great turn-based strategy game, a little grindy at certain stages of the game. Definitely a hidden gem, I had not heard of this game before. Also works great on Linux!

Pretty good game for people that liked INTO THE BREACH and PLANTS VS ZOMBIES! This is a weird combination of those games, I would say. Worth the asking price.

An atrocious game that I remember having played, even though many years have passed. I remember not liking it.

You should buy Star Vikings. It is a game with a fantastic gameplay for those who enjoy puzzles. The Vikings attack the snails with hits that cause chain reactions creating a very good feel. The music and all sound effects are exciting. It is a casual game in its essence but you need a lot of intelligence to do well in puzzles. I really liked it.

A terrific puzzler. A series of chess puzzle type challenges (with a few random elements), overlayed with a fun silly story and fun silly graphics, and enough of a leveling-up mechanism and party-choosing to keep it fresh for quite a while (though you definitely do max out fairly quickly and settle on an optimal party that you can use for most everything).

This game needs more popularity it deserves. Hilarious narrative for players to relax between hard puzzles is a nice thing. Graphics also adds to the humor of the game. Skill tree provides replay value where you can explore different combinations for the development of your heroes. Come on, let's give the devs more support! Thanks.

Fantastic turn based puzzle game. The pacing and gameplay loop is 10/10. I just wish you could pay like 1500 gold to refund a character skills and the most dumb design decision in game are mercs. Like seriously any merc with none exp/level based passive bonus is straight up BETTER than any of main protagonists which means that if you buy a merc with +1 perma energy or + 1 health/+1 damage (the best merc in the game) you want to throw away any of main characters into a thrash can and never think about using them and never use them again because they have zero passive bonuses and yet the same exactly skill tree. That definitely should not be a thing in any party based video game, especially with a clear story. Also there is a missing cutscene that failed to load quite important story wise cutscene about Ragnarok for me at the end of "Moon" chapter. Like a character came back, other character was a traitor and stole important magic thingy to turn into a monster. Sounds important, eh? Please fix it developers!

Loving the strategy in this game, once you get the main characters in the story to add to your clan it’s a ton of fun trying to figure out the strategy of who to use and in what order so they all help each other survive the levels. The level challenges seem to change so they are repeatable for gold or experience and some add a bit of complication when they force you to use a specific character and character level.. I can see myself spending lots of time playing and replaying the levels. Some of the Arena type challenges add another aspect to the game and give you an extra piece to conquer. Story and comic animations are pretty funny also...

If there would be a neutral I would pick that instead of negative. The game is not bad, just not something I enjoy for longer time. It just reminds me too much of a (free to play) mobile title with a lot of repetition and grinding. For people who really enjoy the combat it may be a good investion, but there the game is just not tight enough for me. I recomend all to try the demo, to see if you like the gameplay or not. + Quite unique puzzle gameplay. + The game is all in all quite well done, no big bugs noticed to now. + The characters play different, the enemies and the levels as well. + And there are upgrades which also change the way you play, making them more than gimmicks + There are quite some (optional) challenges later. - The "random" generated levles can have big differences in difficulty - The game seems to be made with mobile also in mind. - The game gets a bit grindy and the randomness is not always fun.

Star Vikings is actually a bit like Plant vs. Zombies - but you play the Zombies not the plants. It is a reversed tower defense game, where you have to destroy the towers (slugs) to get through. You have a variety of "heroes" in your arsenal, the tank, able to withstand a lot of damage, the viking, able to throw lightning on the slugs, "angels" able to cast shields (and healing), ... Each hero can wear a hat, giving him some bonuses, like extra damage, extra energy, more hitpoints, ... It is a worthwile casual game and quite nice to play. On the downside: - Some daily quests simply don't work (and some are somewhat stupid/annoying) - Some achievements are somewhat bugged. No idea how to get the Leaderboard achievement (I guess, the Friends/Leaderboard feature was simply not implemented yet). - You need to do a lot of grinding to get the more difficult achievements - The interface is somewhat optimized for tablets. Not a big deal, but I guess, it would be perfect to play it on a tablet on not with a mouse. Still, the bugs are mostly minor, I recommend this game to casual players, looking for a reversed tower defense game. Btw.: The game works flawless on Linux (with Mesa drivers).
