A fun game that keeps getting better. The dev works on it steadily and provides updates now and then, and truly listens to the players. This is not a game with a end date, so don't expect that development will stop soon - but the dev has stuck around so don't expect that development will drop soon.
It's a great game as it stands, and keeps getting better.

Amazing idea for a game. However, this is def gonna be for certain people. Those who have played mmos will enjoy it more, those who are creative will enjoy it more, those who love the idea of DND style creating characters and will spend hours on character sheets rather than playing the game will enjoy it... well until they run outta ideas cause the class designer is currently a little limited but still can do a pretty decent amount for what it is. The tycoon aspect honestly felt like more of a chore to me which is why I stayed in sandbox mode the whole time. I really want to just see more content for like spell does this and that more than just this amount of damage, dot, reduce damage by, heal this damage etc which is why steam workshop will probably help with that if enough people join in on this.

Easy recommend - the Dev clearly put a lot of work into this and still a lot to come it seems. In short, if you have some creativity about you and enjoy sim/tycoon games in general, you'll have a lot of fun with this.
I spent hours tweaking little details on my map, enemies with their attack effects, setting up quest chains etc. My son asked me before he went to bed how my MMORPG was coming along... I had to tell him I hadn't started it yet, I was too engrossed in making my map zones as cool as I could and balancing the enemies, making sure my quests flowed into eachother. No regrets!
Strong points;
+Very cool concept, well implemented
+Addictive gameplay cycle
+Innovative, nifty features all over (even the menu is cool ffs)
+Runs smooth even on my mid range setup
+Huge potential for replayability, especially once it's easier to mod
+Dev isn't afraid to change things up in a big way if they deem necessary for better gameplay
Work on points;
-Clearly it's not done yet, but I sometimes find myself wishing for more tooltips to explain stuff I'm looking at. The tutorial gets you by to start though.
-Small UI things I'd like to see, like right click to dismiss notifications, more ways to filter subscribers (like by level)
-While I'm having a lot of fun just making cool quests, classes, enemies and maps I feel that most folks would like an overarching goal to aim for, not just making money. Maybe I'm too early in (I take things very slow) but so far progression along the tech tree / making regions for your players as they level up itself is the main incentive, though there are intermittently some awards if your MMORPG has say, detailed quests etc (not sure how that works, but its nifty!)
-I don't particularly like that the new Classes, NPCs and Enemies I unlock are random - I can edit them but just let me choose from the hefty list in the first place please :-)
-More of a suggestion than anything, but if we can take control of creatures could we have a GameDev Avatar? Sometimes I'd like to play through as each class to test the balance, plus it would be nifty to be able to complete your own game and It would create incentive to adjust maps in detail and name characters, buildings as well as put in plenty quest info.
Even in its current state I'd give this a 85/100 (if the work on points above got sorted, it'd be a gem at 90+ for me).

It's the same game I purchased years ago. Was so damn excited for a game like this as I have been huge into MMOs since 1999. The only major thing that really got added was dungeons in all these years. Every few months we would get cosmetic updates. Even with a new update coming it still feels like they have given up on the game and it will just be pushed out of Early Access and forgotten. I just can't recommend it.
If things change I will definitely update this review and change it to a positive. I would love for them to prove me wrong.

Kind of a waste of money, the game doesn't get any updates and it's just promise after promise for years on years.
Save your money, there's better tycoon type games out there for less

I bought this game four years ago I think. Since then, there was a single major update, and some assets. It will never come out. Buy if you're curious, but I'd dissuade you from that.
