a really fun and simple platformer, having great and funny scenarios plus some characters, in the art department, has a castle crashers similarity, but lacks some of the hand drawn animations, requires a little bit of polish, uses the rotation of various moving parts on the main character, as for a cat, ikki , the main hero, has cool mecanics, and concept ideas, overall, its a fun side scroller, so if you want to help a small team and have some fun, you should buy this one. pros: great ambient, characters and some tracks, price con: lacks some animations, simple backgrounds and platforms. ( what you expect of an indie) things to consider: its not a long game, it will take you 2 days ti finish it, but usually you will rest , and getting the 100 percent should add another day of play, but again, you might wanna rest, but for price is a good lenght

Hunter's Legacy is a fun 2d adventure hack and slash. it reminds me of older nes games like Athena(NES) levels which are colorful. I believe this is the first game i played as a cat.

https://youtu.be/MuJra2vQfbA This is a first impression review. I have enjoyed the time I have spent in this game so far. Is there something "special" about it that makes me enjoy it? The honest truth is, no, not really. The combat is typical and the story line as well, but it is a well crafted game with few if any bugs that I have found that is easy to learn and fun to play. My only critique so far would be the same as many others which is the rarity of ore that is used to upgrade skills. I also had some minor difficulty with controls but I only use a keyboard and mouse. And it was minor, this was quickly resolved. For the price and the amount of gameplay there is, quality gameplay, I would say pick it up if this is the game style you like to play. You won't be disappointed.

It's a nice looking platformer which doesn't deviate much from the formula, therefore ideal for lovers of the classic genre. Some of the characters seem like they're on catnip and they add a lot to the light-hearted humor. The graphics are sharp and gameplay smooth; boss fights may get frustrating at times since some try to mimic the toughness of old-school bosses in arcade games. The music in the earliest areas was headache inducing, but other than that, this game is worth its price. This is probably one of the nicest games of our times and the least publicized. Try it.

I am not a big fan of Metroid or Castlevania so this review is coming from someone who doesn't play many titles in the genre. Hunter's Legacy features clean simplistic cartoon visuals with a cool theme that is easy for any cat lover to get behind. The gameplay starts off extremely easy but by the end of the game there are areas and bosses so difficult that you may throw your controller at the screen. If you are into that type of difficulty than this game is for you. If not, perhaps the visuals and simplistic weapon upgrade system will keep you satisfied as you wonder through areas endlessly looking for ways to progress through the story. Metroid type gameplay can be very confusing to navigate at times. Lot's of fun to play if you are into this genre.

It hurts me badly to write this, because I'm a big, big, big fan of Mulaka and of Lienzo in general (they're great people). But oh gosh, this game is just not fun to play. The biggest problem is all the forced damage. Enemies take 3-4 hits to kill and since there's no block button, you simply can't win the DPS race fast enough to kill them without taking damage. This happens ALL THE TIME. While heals and respawn checkpoints are fairly plentiful, your base HP allows you to take only 8 hits before dying. The art style is very cute and the controls are tight and responsive. This game shows a lot of the promise that Mulaka realised. It just doesn't come together as an enjoyable final product. And it's not like there's an engaging story to keep you around either, it's as basic as they come. So as much as it breaks my heart to say, I really can't recommend this game. Get Mulaka. It's terrific. But pass on this one.

Hunter's Legacy is a technically good game which comes with original graphics of medium detail, minimal story and a good, sometimes interesting variety of level mechanics making up a basic metroidvania. Unfortunately and despite loot drops and some rare items (not quite collectibles), this game does not manage to get me to enjoy it. I can appreciate the four-direction melee attacks, freely aimable bow and almost always agreeable controls but, for me, all the good things never combined to actual fun. Additionally, the bosses tend to be annoying which eventually makes me quit the game for a while until I regenerate enough tolerance to return. I think the main problem with bosses is that while levels help you maximise proficiency with your set of movements the bosses reduce player agency. Bosses sort of get in your way. At times that means you are simply prevented from approaching the boss vulnerability this cycle, at others you are bounced off the level. While falling off only counts as a simple hit it also leaves the player just watching. I guess in an academic context I would award Hunter's Legacy full points. A lot of good things have been put together well. As a consumer I do not feel entertained. That with the interspersed boss frustration makes me recommend to avoid the game.

Honestly, I found it nearly unplayable from the outset due to the camera movement. Moving horizontally is fine, but any vertical movement causes the view to bounce up and down and frankly made me feel motion sick.

The game is fun, tbh I play it sometimes just for the thrill of it! Somethings are... weird but overall I have been having fun. Also, it is one more step for Mexican developers to really make the industry go somewhere in this country.
