Level 34 has a fault. Should be 9 crabs to collect, only 8 so impossible to pass the level

A masterpiece. 1 of the best TM games I've played. The challenge, variety and level creativity is superb!
They've added so many new elements, including crafting, that it's dizzying at times absorbing all the play options. Getting the Gold Sun for a level on my 1st try was intense on almost every level, wow.
I got it most of the time, but with only seconds and a sliver of blue on the timer remaining. Once you know what the level requires it's not too hard to get it the 2nd time around.
The story for levels and characters is well done.
Bravo Devs...

frustratingly fun to get the best times. Love time management games. I'm really good at TM games, so just fair warning that these times are way tight to make a lot of the times.

MOAI 4: Terra Incognita is already the fourth installment of the story of "our hero" and just like the previous games it is captivating in its simplicity. For people who are into casual games this one is a real gem. The levels are bound together by the story of an island community which is tormented by a big wave, after which a new group of islands appears. For those who have played the other MOAI games there are some characters you will recognize and a few references to the other games, but it is an all new story. The short cutscenes and conversations allows the player to immerge in the story and to be taken from a ravaged beach, over an island full of birds, to an underwater city and further.
Aside from the storyline, the gameplay is much like the previous games. This means that you will have to think about the order in which you do things, but most of the time you will get there anyway. Although the levels do become harder when you progress. They changed the way you get your equipment; while playing you are gathering crafting supplies which you use to craft items to give you speed or production bonusses. This means that you can focus on the bonusses you like best.
The game also has a good Steam integration, which includes achievements, trading cards and a background and emoticon. Especially the achievements will keep you busy for a while if you are a perfectionist ;)
In short, I would highly recommend this game. The levels are well balanced (although they could be a bit harder sometimes) and strung together by a nice storyline. When I play this game time flies.

I will join the ranks of the unimpressed and say that I was extremely disappointed in this iteration of MOAI! Usually when I finish a MOAI game with Steam achievements I replay levels to try to get more. For MOAI 4 I couldn't wait for it to end! The ONLY reason I played to the end was because of the Steam achievements. If it was like MOAI 3 without Steam achievements I would have quit as soon as the Steam cards dropped. But I didn't want to seriously screw up my Steam achievements with only a few from this game.
The good (like all the MOAI's so far):
o colorful graphics
o cute animations
o somewhat interesting story
o relaxed option same as getting gold on timed
o letterbox window
o replay map
The bad:
o nuisance game play (birds (click fest) / fog, darkness, underwater (hard to plan ahead))
o needed items get "buried" behind structures
o some goals require building multiple structures for unneeded resources
o levels artificially dragged out (example: having to wait for workers to get sick so they can be cured)
o sometimes almost impossible to tell how to get to items that need to be processed (displaying a "red" path would be a BIG help!)
o hurry up and wait (build structures and then wait for resources to slowly collect)
o scarecrow clanging noise for birds is annoying
o special items collected not shown until level ends and sometimes looks like some were missed (would be better to show what is available during the level to be sure all were collected)
Probably the biggest drawback for me was the birds. There were too many levels with them, too many birds in those levels and sometimes no way to get rid of them other than clicking. I will think long and hard before buying any more MOAI games! However, if you are a fan of MOAI and/or time management games, you might want to give it a whirl.
