I have always been a fan of Edgar Allan Poe Stories, It is very difficult at this time with the pandemic to take your mind of the worries of each day. I am 49 years old and take comfort that there is games that have a story and puzzles and easy to hard difficulties. For those adult gamers it is worth paying for some break from reality

A reluctant thumbs-up. It was too short for the price (8.99 US). But overall a decent game. The mini-games were more varied and better than I normally find with Artifax Mundi. I am not one that cares about story too much, but this story was a bit below average, I would say. I still rate this a bit higher than many of the Artifax Mundi games, though.

What a beautiful hidden object game! One of my favs in this genre. 1 - Great music! 2 - Creative Storyline is gonna keep you hooked! 3 - Beautiful graphics! 4 - If you're an Edgar Allan Poe's fan then this is the right game to play. 5 - Challenging and fun puzzles but it also has great hints. 6 - You get to have a dog help you find clues, sooo cute. 7 - Solve a murder with a handsome detective lol 8 - You can still re-play areas which is fun! 9 - Cut-scenes are great! 10 - Are you still reading this? GO and get the game, right now!!!

I just love the series and what they made with E.A.Poes Stories. This one is rather short and the puzzles are quite easy, but artwork and story are really good. The only problem for me is, that it really crashes a lot (but I never lost progress). I would recommend grabbing it on sale (because of the crashes and its shortness).

The plot about treasure hunt isn't nearly as interesting as the series' usual forray into murders, but the gameplay makes up for that. 8/10

Crashed three times but I did manage to complete the main game. Story is average, locks are rather nonsensical and hitboxes are small with some of the HOG items being named oddly (ex. "cone" for a pine cone.) Voice acting is the highlight, but because it's so badly recorded it's funny. A few of the voiced characters sound like they're locked in basements. The voice actors themselves did 110% acting, to the point that I laughed multiple times and grinned a lot listening to them. I would fully recommend the game if not for the crashing issue.

This series seems to follow the plots of Edgar Allen Poe’s stories. Of course, with you and a Detective involved. In this one you have to save/protect a man who believes he has uncovered the location of Captain Kidd’s treasure. HO scenes are fun, minigames challenging, and the plot engaging. Recommend in the bundle, just for ease of purchase.

I really like Dark Tales stories! This was as good at the other ones! - Beautiful graphics and art work! - Good interesting story - Great voice acting - Various well constructed mini games and HO scenes Sad that many Big Fish games don't have Achievements, Cards or Collectables. This game I used to play offline at my summer lake house, relaxing! I recommend it!

Great game, not too challenging, a great plot and excellent artwork. This game is based off of Edgar Allan Poe's Gold Bug, though it does take its liberties, understandable since the original story is pretty short. LeGrand is a character in the original story; there is a Newfoundland dog in the original story; in the original story, the protaganist finds Captain Kidd's treasure buried under a tree with the help of an encrypted parchment - the message of which is the exact same as the one in the game. There is where the similarities end. The creator of this game took great liberties to thicken the plot of this rather plain story, and we are much obliged to him (or her) for that. Also, Poe fans like myself know that Dupin, the detective who is your partner in the game, is the legendary French detective Poe created for Murders in the Rue Morgue, so very cleverly done by the creator of this game to combine two Poe classics into one. This game is fun to play, although I wish the puzzles were more difficult, as they are quite easy in this game compared to other point-and-click games I've played. Overall, an enjoyable game.
