Honestly $30 for this seems insane, especially if you bought the founder's edition.
I like that they are adding content and making updates, but this game has been in a tough spot since launch, and this feels like a quick money-grab despite having such a rocky start.

Can I just say that I'm really upset that I paid $30 for this? What is the point of even having the Founder's Edition?

TL;DR: This DLC killed my Civ 7 hyperfixation. I'll probably buy future paid future DLCs, but I'm definitely waiting. There's no reason to get them on release unless you are streamer imo.
- The Founder's Edition + DLCs = $100 over the last year and a half. And I think it's only been until recently that the game is in the state people were expecting on release.
-I don't like that I need to pay $30 up front, but Firaxis doesn't have to deliver the full DLC up front. Half the DLC is scheduled for late June 2026, and the other half is scheduled for late July 2026.
-I don't see a reason to buy the DLC on release, because it's going to break all the quality of life mods, and I'm going to have a worse gaming experience for two weeks while the modders fix them peicemeal.
Longer version:
1. I didn't realize this wasn't included in the Founder's edition at first, and I'm mad at Firaxis for not making that clear. This is the 4th DLC but the game was released in such a pre-mature state that it didn't feel like the game was ready until Tides of Power, which released last November. So in hindsight it looks like the Founder's Edition was really what the base game should have been (after 10 months of updates), and the base game is something more akin to a beta release.
2. They've been releasing the DLCs half an update at a time, and I have a problem with that when they are not free. Why do I have to pay $30 up front, if Firaxis doesn't have to provide the full DLC up front?
3. There are some big quality of life mods that need to be included in the base game very badly, and every time a major update or DLC happens, the modders need a week or two to get their mods updated. I think it's shady that Firaxis outsources this work to the modding community, and the players have to put up with all their mods breaking and having a worse gaming experience for a couple weeks. I don't need to pay $30 dollars for all my mods to break, I can just have that happen for free, and pick up the DLC later when things are stable, if I ever get around to it.

I'm enjoying the new content for the most part, but charging $30 for each of these packs is diabolically greedy and shameless. Not much else to say.

I am buying this because it's the only game I have time to play these days, and I know I'll buy it anyway.
However, this game needs a lot of work and $30 for two leaders and four civs (when most leaders and civs seem to lack flavor) is outrageous.
There are phenomenal games that, in their entirety, are $30. Hell, even Paradox DLC puts Firaxis to shame.
This game has a *TON* of potential, and I have been a loyal Civ fan since Civ II, but these prices are absolutely insane for the content we're getting in return.
That being said, I hope the Devs don't abandon the game. It could be a masterpiece, just stop pillaging our bank accounts.

$30 for a pack of a couple leaders, a few era-specific civilizations, and a handful of wonders? That's the price of a full expansion pack that would include like a dozen civs and leaders, entirely new gameplay mechanics, and other content. I thought this would be, like, $5, or maybe $10. People seem to be responding positively to the Test of Time update, but this game has a lot of good-will that it needs to earn back. Selling over-priced piecemeal DLC is not the way to do it.

Unbelievable that you accept people's money for the founders edition, to turn around sell them $30 DLCs that should have been included to begin with, all while the base game still needs work.
I guess thats one way to throw away 20 years of good will.

I spent 130$ on the "founders edition" when the game released in good faith that the next expansions they would add would be included.
I can't express how low of a move, and disappointing it is that this expansion MUST be paid for and it's 30$??
Firaxis, My cat needs therapy now, because they had to witness me exclaim words regarding this expansion, words that I may not write in this review.....
I am to say, at the least displeased.

$40 for this is the definition of greed. Why did I even bother buying the Founders Edition ?
A slap in the face price for what you get.

The content in here is good but this should honestly be cheaper in price. If I remember, Rise and Fall and Gathering storm costed around the same amount of money for way more content. Also, the game launched in such a bad state, diehards like me who pre ordered the best editions kinda got screwed
