Since the devs had steam ban my review on the game itself for somewhat understandable reasons i guess i want to share my thoughts on the game and its devs here instead. So I will say this game had the potential to be one of the best online games ever made but i think that bar has long passed due to certain decisions the devs are making. It is a really fun game and could have been a great alternative to vr chat and has a lot of fun minigames and customization. But at this point I truly have no idea what the devs are thinking at this point i feel like they want their game to fail. the main thing that has been upsetting me and many others on a personal level is their moderation decisions and how frequently they ban people for really small things. one of their really dumb rules that most certaintly oversteps what they should be moderating is their rule for “no innapropriate usernames and avatars.” as you may already know this game uses your steam name and avatar and what may seem okay to steam may not be okay with them. at this point they are trying to moderate steam and not just their game which just seems wrong. i got a 2 day ban for having a username they didnt like. i just want to enjoy the game and have fun. i had the username for like 4 or so months and put at least 50 hours in the game while i had it and i dont see why its a big deal. i rarely talked in chat anyways and i am not racist, homophobic or transphobic in any ways. I myself am trans. i also have seen the devs ban people for speaking out about similar issues, criticise the game or the way the devs handle the game on many occasions. i have seen many posts on the steam forums about stuff like this and they are almost always immediately locked or deleted by the devs. i got permanantly banned on the forums for calling the devs terrible. they also deleted every single comment i made on the forums, probably because i criticised them. i truly enjoy playing the game and wish to continue playing but it is getting really hard to. ive stopped playing numerous times before due to being angered by the devs actions but come back because of the things i do enjoy about it. but after them what felt like personally targeting me(even though it might not) i just feel really upset when i think about or decide to play this game. i have a lot of mental health issues and i will admit i sometimes act unstable(hence why my other review was banned) but this game is really important to me i think. i saw someone say something similar about their moderation practices impacting their mental health on their website and macdguy seemed like he didnt give a shit with the response he gave and kind of avoided the issue too. something else about this game i will mention is the fact they will act like nothing is wrong or wont take responsibility for the poor performance of the game. ive played the game for 3 years and its gotten worse. and they decide to release it into 1.0 in this state. many things have also not been added to the game yet and it is quite obviously not finished. instead of listening to what people want they do whatever instead. i really want this game to succeed and become popular but i highly doubt that will happen at this point. as it is after they had the small surge of players by releasing it into 1.0, which didnt even pass its all time peak, the player count is at one of its all time lows in recent years if you look at the charts on steamdb. their 1.0 publicity stunt truly was one of the worst decisions they made. ive lost a lot of hope for this game, even more than i already had. i just want the devs to change their ways and listen to the community and hopefully flip things around… but i doubt that will happen…
