Please do not buy it! So i bought this like 2 months ago. Its a Beta now so i thouhgt, nice i can spend my money on a horse game, cuz i love those games, and also help the devs and the game with my money... That's where i was horribly wrong! So let's talk about the game as it is atm: Theres hardly anything to do besides doing like 5 "Quests", riding around on a horse wich you can't train or really do much with besides...riding around. You can build a stable in a horrible builind menu, but i have to say it really is a nice and fun feature and something i enjoyed seeing in the game. But thats it... to gain money you mine ore over and over again, you cannot do anything else to get money. This is so boring and frustrating, after only the 5-6 hours i have on the game, that i stopped playing and went to see what the community and developing of the game is like. So lets come to the real issue: It's a Beta, so theres should be progress and updates, right? Well i was looking into the Forum and on their Facebook Page, and a lot of people already said theres really few updates from the Team and not much is getting done. The excuse is, they're a small team and so developing is slow because of that. I get it, when theres just a handfull of people, programming and everything else is not done overnight. But we're at a point right now, where the team has not shown any sign of being active on this game for over 6 weeks! The only ppl who did say somthing were moderators on the Forum who said the Developer isnt even working on the promised foal and breeding update, and also rarely even works on the game. Someone on facebook even already said they might just have scammed the customers and now leave the game as it is since they now have the money. For days and weeks this comment sits there with no comment from the team or anything else. So please dont be as foolish as we were and wait if theres something gonna happen because those "developers" might just have scammed us. Brought the game to steam to get some easy money and then abadon the game as it is leavig everyone in the dark. Theres no rule on how often a Beta hast to be updated, but the last real update was in march, and for 2 months theres only 1 Update-Post up, nothing else. And what bothers us as a community the most is that we get no feedback anymore from any person of the riding out team. If i could id asked to get my money back but ive played it for too long...

It's a pity that this game is what it is right now. I know it's an early access, and I have to say this game has potential. I also like the textures, such as the horse's skin and the different types of grounds, like stone and sand. Unfortunately this game's graphics aren't really good, and I would rather prefer a smaller world for the beginning than a huge world with really slow rendering. (My PC and graphic gards are the upper class, so it's not because my PC isn't good enough or something like that.) Also the flowers, bushes and stuff like that are simple 2D sprites, and the islands are both very, very empty. I wouldn't call this game a MMORPG yet, cause there aren't any quests, or NPCs you could really talk to. Interface also doesn't look pretty, and you just can't do anything at all besides farming iron to buy carrots, to tame horses, that are very rare. (Rare if you don't want one of the thousands of grey horses). That's it. No building, no racing, no advance, no RPG. Also the camera movements are crappy, just as the reaction of player' actions (such as clicking and not reacting). Again, I know it's an early access, and I know this game is in development, but I have to say that 20,-, wich I fully paid to test that game are more than too much. I'm sorry to give all these negative comments, but I would't buy it ever again. At least not yet. Please make something outta this piece of game. Thanks for reading. :) P.S. Article was written in English to be readable for as many users as possible. My native language is german, so I'm sorry for eventually spelling and/or grammar mistakes.

Riding Out is actually good horse game so far. Yea we know... Early access game it has it bugs and stuffs that makes it annoying or "empty" looking but i'm liking it so far. Taming horses is simple and easy and you can get as many horses as you want, as long as you have the money to buy carrots for them, building is meh for me, especially houses... it seems simple but at first 5 times I tried it I was losing my mind so I think this needs a lot more improvements. Getting money is kinda annoying at the moment, you either collect ore or collect mushrooms... I haven't found any other ways to get money so I hope there will be more in the future. One thing that kinda makes me feel sad or mad.. is that there's no kind of tutorials whatsoever so for me at first I didn't know what I was able to do and I had no idea what to do so I just did some "main" quests and got bored with it for a long time... I'm seeing some really good potential ideas in this game and I can't wait it to progress and future updates.

Despite the fact that Riding Out is still an early access game, it has so much potential to be a fantastic game. However, it has many, many flaws. Some more serious than others. THE BAD: - The speech dialog looks terrible and the grammar is just ridiculously stupid. At some points it's difficult to actually understand or SEE the bloody words due to the dialog box being clear and showing the background of the game. For example, black writing doesn't mix well with a dark background. - It crashes CONSTANTLY, and in doing so, you lose your progress and have to start again, which is an arduous process. - The majority of the game controls are as if though you're attempting to understand ancient Egyptian symbols. Many make no sense whatsoever, and will make you checking back and forth to see how to do a certain action in the game. - Even on a high spec PC, it still crashes. No matter what you do, even if you change the graphics quality of the game it will still crash. - The storyline is absolute bullsh*t, it lacks direction and meaning. It feels as if though the only purpose and story in the game is to mine and sell. This 'aint Minecraft ya goofs. - The map has no distinct and obvious locations. Such as the town or the stables, you have to find them on your own with an ugly looking purple horseshoe that vaguely shows you where to go. - Trying to look for a certain person for a quest? Good luck, because the game will not tell you where they are, nor will said people spawn back at a specific location that you will remember and will trust that they will be there. It's a goddamn goose chase for hecks sake. - Is your horse stuck in a certain position and can't back up? Well too bad, because you can't back your horse up in the first place. - Have you lost your horse and can't find it no matter where you look? Once again, too bad. You can't call or whistle your horse to come to you. So that means you have to jog all the way back to the stables. - Riding in the dark or just jogging on foot? Have fun running into things that you can't see because NOTHING is lit up on paths outside of the town. - The English in the game is appalling. GAME MAKERS, GET SOMEONE WHO KNOWS ENGLISH. - Want to save your game so you don't lose progress? Too bad, you can't save at all. - Are you having a nice ride near some cliffs, but are worried about falling off? Don't worry your pretty little head because you and your horse can survive 200 metre falls without any damage! You and your horse cannot die. From a 200.metre.fall. Seriously? - Tying your horse up is pointless in the game, mainly because when you dismount and go anywhere, your horse stays right where you left it. - There is no tack for your horse. No bridles, saddles, saddle pads, stirrups, NOTHING. - You cannot change the appearance of your character. - There is not enough variety of things to do to be able to earn money. Mining and cutting trees down is all there is. It gets old and boring VERY quickly. I could go on forever about the flaws of this game. Yes it is still a beta game, and yes it does have so, so many problems, but it's time to list the GOOD things about it. THE GOOD: - There is only one other game like this, Star Stable, but it comes nowhere near the freedom and ability to create and explore your own world. - The graphics, despite being a beta game are beautiful. - You can build your own stables for god sake. How sweet is that?! - The horses are stunning and look fantastic, their coat colours have a huge range, and their movement is pretty good. Even when you aren't riding them, they have their own actions such as wandering around the stable or grazing on the grass. - You can enter almost every building, which are fully furnished and look fantastic. - You feel absolute freedom in the game. You can basically do anything or go anywhere. - There is endless opportunities for creative people to build things, which you can do anywhere in the game. - Your character's movement is excellent, and the controls for it are simple and easy to understand. - The characters look good, they have the same quality as your character. - The ability to open almost every door or gate makes the game feel more realistic. - Being able to pick up and move certain objects and place them anywhere is also quite emersive. There are a few more good things about this game, but these are the main ones that should be noted. In summary: If you like horses, buy the game. However, don't be surprised that it's not perfect in any way as it's a beta game. It has all the potential in the world to be a beautiful and fun game to play if you give the developers time to make it as such. Personally, I'm waiting with high expectations for the game to be fully completed.

The game has not been updated for a year now and before that I couldn't even play it since half of the screen was cut off. Further more, it looks horrible and just doesn't promise a lot of content nor fun. It has been in early access for 3 years and I honestly just want my money back but since I cannot do that, I'll just advice everyone, who reads this, to not buy this game.

Don't buy this game!!! I bought this game 2 years ago and it was busy being developed, but this game was suddenly abundant. It was going to be a great game, but now it is just an unfinished game, that has limited quest and the graphics and map is not finished. Don't buy this game!!!

i have mixed feelings about this.. a game like this is needed.. noone makes them anymore. but there is close to nothing to do in the game other than Mining Iron or cutting down trees to be able to afford a carrot so you can tame a horse. (about 1 hours of gameplay worth) there doesent seem to be any updates atm so im not sure how fast/active the developers are. The game has Great potential. but if the developers spend too much time gettin to a playable state. i belive the game is simply gonna die and never release properly. its a 50/50 right now.. i would want more communication and content being pushed out alittle faster.. rather have small updates ever 1-2 weeks.. than have one major every 6 months (im not giving this a thumbs down because i dont like it.. but because myt gut feeling tells me its gonna die before it releases due to the lack of communication and updates)

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME THEY STOPPED PRODUCTION AND WON'T KEEP THE PLAYERS UPDATED. BEEN INACTIVE FOR YEARS, SHOULD REMOVE OFF STEAM. (EDIT: Developer left the game, no longer in production. Had a falling out and the game won't continue. Do not purchase if you value your money.)
