An epic soundtrack. It really goes in for the [b]big[/b] sounds, which is appropriate, seeing as most of [i]Siege of Dragonspear[/i] is about two opposing armies clashing on the battlefield. They work perfectly in-game, but I find the blaring horns, wailing choir, and drums of war a bit too much for casual listening. I love the "peaceful" tracks, but there are really only five on the OST (4, 5, 7, 11, and 14), which limits the package's overall appeal considerably.
It still wouldn't feel right thumbing the soundtrack down, because the music [i]is[/i] well-composed and memorable, it just goes too hard for me. If you like those intense kind of fantasy battle themes, however, this collection is up with the best of them.

As I already mentioned in the review of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition soundtrack, this music may not be as epic and pompous as in many modern RPGs, but it definitely helps you to experience your own adventure and get immersed into the story.

Well, what can I say, it’s simply the official soundtrack for [i]Siege of Dragonspear[/i] expansion. The album consists of 21 tracks composed by Sam Hulick, which sound rather close to [i]Baldur’s Gate II[/i] instead of being related to classic [i]Baldur’s Gate[/i] musical score. Anyway, the whole soundtrack blends in really well with the expansion’s atmosphere and in general I enjoyed all the tracks.
However, there’s something worth taking into account before buying, namely the amount of content on this album and its price. Well, the official soundtrack for [i]Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition[/i] has twice as many tracks, yet it costs as much as this one.
So, the decision is up to you; if you’re a collector and just want to have another soundtrack in your Steam Library or just like the album, then go and get it, although I’d suggest waiting for a sale. The full price is just too high, especially when it comes to the number of tracks on this album compared with [i]Baldur’s Gate[/i] soundtrack.
