Nothing beats the classics, the best kingdom rush in a solid desktop port.

Just buy BTD6. This is a flash game with 8 total unique towers, no targeting settings, minimal enemy/map variation and minimal post-game upgrades. $10.99 is already a rip off, but charging $20 for the new release is a crime

Plays well, but is ruined by terrible balancing and a mobile game-esque item shop.
Around the midpoint in the campaign, 2 enemies ruin the balancing: spiderlings and savage hunters. Spiderlings are very weak but come in huge numbers, requiring AOE damage or ways to slow them down. However, they also come in waves with enemies that require high single-target damage. This is not inherently an issue, but you don't earn enough gold to build enough towers to output both AOE and single target damage. Barracks are supposed to be the spiderling counter, and they are! However...
Barracks become useless because of savage hunters. They are ranged enemies that deal poison damage over "time", and they spawn often. That DOT is so quick it is effectively instant. The hunter's range is greater than the engagement range of the barracks' troops. You'd think the strategy is to just kill the hunters before they reach the troops, but they spawn in waves with high enemy counts, so you can't do that without already having high AOE damage.
The scenario this creates is that the barracks becomes useless beyond the early game, even when upgraded. So then use the other counter... the dwaarp! That's a great idea, but it costs over 1000 gold for one. You simply do not earn enough gold to effectively build against both high health, low quantity enemies such as matriarchs or shamans, and low health, high quantity enemies such as spiderlings.
The balancing in this game just ruins it. The levels feel designed to be played one specific way while relying on item shop items that kill everything on screen. The other games are balanced better, and can actually be completed with different strategies. This one feels like a chore.
+Good art
+Solid tower defense gameplay
+Lots of levels
+Challenge modes
-Awful balancing
-Level design relies on the item shop
-Barracks is useless beyond early game
-Many heroes feel useless

Very similar to the first kingdom rush with the towers and enemies. Still a fun game to play but i would not buy it full price.

A genuinely fun and enjoyable tower defense game. The different environments throughout the campaign all offer unique challenges and enemies, which keeps things fresh as you continue through the game. The post-game levels provide a real challenge, perhaps to the point of being rather unbalanced, however. The large number of Easter eggs to be found within each level is also pretty entertaining.

One of the best Kingdom rush games out there, on par with the original Kingdom rush, just depends what you prefer more. Played it back on browser just like the original Kingdom rush and couldn't resist going back to it, this time on Steam after 12+ years or so. Instant classic, 10/10

Kingdom Rush Frontiers - where the points are made up, the towers don't matter, and half the time your actions don't affect the outcome.
Kingdom Rush Frontiers - where you will be progress stonewalled 1/4 of the way into the game, repeatedly reconfiguring to scrape out another star, all the frustration of a microtransaction game but with the inability to buy a win for losers who do that.
Kingdom Rush Frontier - Lay down your towers provided by the game , upgrade them with currency provided byu the game, and behold as they have little to no effect on the enemies provided by the game.
Kingdom Rush Frontiers - Have key spots on the battlefield taken up with pre determined towers that don't fit well in the spot because less choice = more strategy!
Kingdom Rush Frontiers - with challenge levels that are so specific you will only beat them by googling where to put every tower, which upgrades to have, and what order to do every step! FUN!
Kingdom Rush Frontiers - Take the frustrating experience of endgame KR1 where the palyer goes through all available unbeaten levels repeatedly failing them scraping out one tiny upgrade at a time, whereby what order to play the levels and scrape out upgrades because far more important than where you put the towers and play the game, and frontload that experience intop the first 8 levels so you are grindingly stuck from the jump! A beautifully fun choice between wasting your own time and googleing the answer to what should be a somewhat open ended game. FUN!
