A really fun and unique game that combines aspects and themes of tower defense, bullet hell, strategy, and arcade style gameplay together. A super simple concept to get into that is a ton of fun to experience.

After game sitting down in library for more than a decade, back when steam was new and exciting. Instead of just launching it to get some cards, I actually played it and beat (easy) in one sitting.
Turns out it was a great fun! Who would've guessed. Best and very satisfying 1.5 hours I spent past few days.
I may return for more difficult modes later on.
Never dismiss your backlog. Try this game out honestly for a few stages and you'll get hooked regardless, guarantee.

No time for a review so I give this game a rank C.
Okay game - not bad but you can skip it or try on sale.
See my profile for more details about my reviews.
Additional notes: this is an old game so no one will read this review, moreover this is a reinventing of an even older genre, where the name of the genre could be called "area splitting / dividing". People played on games like Qix or Volfied, be personnally I played a lot a game called JezzBall. If you are like me and enjoyed JezzBall a lot, back in the days of Windows 3.1, then you know what to expect here, except with a medieval fantasy theme. Cool little game, shareware type of thing.

Ahh, Fortix... Where to begin? Think about the best game you've ever played. Got it? Now think about what if that game had a love relation with a god of your choice... Pretty sexy, am I right? Imagine the love child of your favourite game and a god. A masterpiece forged in heavens. Ladies and gentlemen, that would be Fortix. I cannot think of any defect in this artwork and I honestly feel bad for everyone that hasn't played it yet, to the point of having rivers of tears falling from my sad eyes. Ever since I laid eyes on this "game" (such an offensive and futile denomination for such wonder), I started seeing life with different eyes. For exemple, I was a sad human being and wanted to end my own suffering... But now, fortix is all I ever think about. I now have a reason to live, and a new hope for tomorrow.
For those of you who took the time to read my felt review, my deepest gratitude. I hope you take my advice and make a good action for both the developers and yourself.
Small but likeable top-down strategy
This is a really small game, but it still takes a bit of time to get to like it. The basic idea is very simple: capture enemy territory by moving your one character along a "baseline", where you are safe from attacks, and cutting off pieces of the territory by leaving the safe baseline. While you're out in the open, you're prone to attacks from cannonballs and dragons, so it's crucial to get a good timing, and even apply some basic strategy here and there.
There isn't much more to it, really, so the game is quite easy to master, but the intricacies of some of the later levels ask for some quick reactions while moving into the open. There is something addictive in trying to finish every level and outwit the dragons; and there are some nice steam-achievement and even trading cards on offer. So if you can pick this one up at a low price: just spend the money, but don't expect a great game in return, just a quick but tasty snack.
Gameplay: 20/30
Graphics: 12/20 (basic really, but still with some atmosphere)
Sound: 5/10
Longeliveity: 10/20
Stability/techical: 15/20 (I had a couple of sudden minimalizes, but the game just continued in the background so no big deal).
Overall: 62/100

Its not a strategy, neither fantasy, nor 3rd person RPG. This is more like a simple board cutting game , the concept which is as old as the first video game launched in 1950s. It felt like I am connecting dots in my artbook when I was 5 years old. (I am still 5 though xD). Let your inner kid prance out and take some time off from your usual State-of-the-art cyberpunk, and give some rest to your poor pc running Nvidia all the time. So, its not gonna last long , comes with less than 10 levels or so, but worth a shot. Good news, the concept and success of Fortix led to developers to come up with Fortix 2. This certainly deserved a sequel. Or it had been much better if they have made a single game with more levels than 2 games. Still, go ahead and buy this half-a-dollar game )

Fortix is a strategic puzzle game in which you must capture the castles by making lines and rectangles. There are turrets and dragons ready to kill you all around and you have a set amount of lives per stages.
The game is really stressful, because if you die in a set of levels, you will start over at the first one. Also in the later difficulties, with how hard it is to make pixel perfect squares, you will die to random 1x1 pixel bumps you have made while capturing terrain. This game could have been pretty good, I like the idea. There's even more bad things about the game...
This is a "puzzle" kind of game, but the enemies and bonuses doesn't spawn at the same place if you retry or start over. That makes it so you can win many levels just by re-trying until you get a "Stop-time" bonus in a convenient spot and clear the level in 20 seconds.
The game can be completed in less than 30 minutes (even on Impossible difficulty), but at least it's cheap...
I do not think it is too bad, but I cannot recommend it, way too punishing, it's 1$ though... So if you want to try a new type of puzzle/strategy game, sure, try it. Personally, I found it too punishing and frustrating. I also felt like I had no real control over certain of my deaths.

...my first cell-phone was Ericson, some old model. There was a game called "Erix", and that one was very good for me - I could have spend a lot of my time with it. And this game just makes me remember these good old days. Thanks, Fortix!

Simple gameplay.
You play a greedy knight that runs around in 12 kingdoms on lines that you "own" on the board and he takes land by squaring it off.
Dragons and the current land owners will try to kill you when they find you on their land.
When you venture out some dragons will come at you and/or shoot fire at you.
There is also the towers that will fire on you, and a bat that has your scent, traveling on your lines hunting you down.
If any of these touch you or your line when your taking land your dead and the bat will just kill you outright on your own land but can not follow you out.
Water, cliffs, and sand will slow you down, then there are also impassable walls (dragons can fly over these).
If you can take the area with the crossed axes you'll launch a catapult and take out one of the towers.
You win by destroying all enemies or taking enough land to satisfy the gods.
"Crush your enemies. See them driven before you. Hear the lamentations of their women."
