Drift (Over) Drive is a completely garbage 2D top down retro pixel "drifting" racing game where you control a retro pixel car and have to drift around a racecourse. You get points for "drifting", which, because the game is so badly made, is just a matter of turning your car 90 degrees to the road and holding the "up" arrow. Seriously, it's that bad. There's an options menu for the game, and I'm not kidding here, you try enter it and it says the "options" aren't implemented yet, so basically you can't configure anything in this trash NW.js crapfest. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio. It's possible they developed this using an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game has been specifically designed for people gaming on PC's from 1995... either way, this isn't really acceptable in the modern era of PC gaming. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. Bewilderingly, the game doesn't include proper audio controls, so you can't turn off the annoying background music, you'll need to alt+tab out and stop the music using the Windows sound mixer. This is obviously not okay and it's unclear why the developers chose not to include this basic feature. The very poor quality of this game puts it squarely on-par with ancient 1990's Flash/Java games, and given it's 2023 (and this was released not so far back in 2017), gamers and the industry expect and deserve better than this kind of low effort shovelware. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only appears around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. It's also important to note the publisher here has close business connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers (eg, Mihai Morosanu) who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers by asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk. Drift (Over) Drive is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.

Game only works the first time you boot it, after that it won't open even though Steam (and task manager) says it's running. Not much of a loss, though, since the game is utter trash anyway. Utterly pathetic.

Tags: Driving & Racing - Miniracer Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Bottom of the barrel. Flash Grade racer involving miniature cars. Does not fullscreen correctly. Play area looks like centered 640x480 at best. Poor audiovisuals. Game features a score attack or a time attack but the two objectives dont blend together very well as drifting means you are usually taking longer to finish. When I tried to exit I got stuck in the menus and had to force close process. At least Xbox360 pad was detected and working. Removed for declutter.

For $1.00 I really can't complain. The game is very arcade like and it reminds me of R.C Pro Am on the NES which is a good thing. I got this game in a bumble, and I honestly thought it would be crap. I played it for 5 minutes and I got my fun from it, I don't think I'll ever come back to this game. I played this out of curiousity sake, and it's pretty much whatever. A game that could have been on the iphone or something.

__DO NOT DOWNLOAD WARNING__ Game was way too difficult. Got stuck on the maize maze. I spent 45min before giving up on a level that should be able to be beat in under 10min worth or do-overs. ITS ONLY THE 3RD LEVEL. What happens is you only have enough time to get 2700-2900 points if you want to make it to the finish line. If you go drift happy and ignore the finish line I've only been able to hit 3347 points which is still not even enough points to get a bronze badge even if I made it to the finish line. One hilarious flaw I found is when I went to take a screenshot (F12) instead of taking a screenshot it just launched google chromes developer tools. Funny enough you can cheese the game by modifying some values XD. "IF" you want to run this game again just delete C:\Users\*InsertUsernameHere*\AppData\Local\DriftOverDrive The games code is poorly written and anytime you close the game one of the files in the temp folder becomes corrupted. Even if you uninstall the game and Re-install it windows likes to hold onto temp files so that folder should still be there if you delete the game. You can reopen the game once before having to repeat the above process. When you launch the game don't worry it will create a new temp folder automatically. _________________________________________________________________________________ WARNING _________________________________________________________________________________ What scares me most is "C:\Users\*InsertUsernameHere*\AppData\Local\DriftOverDrive\User Data\Default" Inside the temp folder this game creates it also creates a file labeled (Login Data) and another labelled (Login Data-journal) Inside (Login Data) I found source code references to "Š1tableloginsloginsCREATE TABLE logins (origin_url VARCHAR NOT NULL, action_url VARCHAR, username_element VARCHAR, username_value VARCHAR, password_element VARCHAR," And inside (Web Data) I found references to " //†tableautofill_profilesautofill_profilesCREATE TABLE autofill_profiles ( guid VARCHAR PRIMARY KEY, company_name VARCHAR, street_address VARCHAR, dependent_locality VARCHAR, city VARCHAR, state VARCHAR, zipcode VARCHAR," I________________________________________________________________________________ My guess as to why the game doesn't run again is in hopes the user doesn't force close the game they can use the (Network Persistent state) file to auto log your passwords in the background with their auto-fill table script THERE IS NO REASON (AT ALL) THAT THIS GAME WOULD REQUIRE INTERNET. ITS A SINGLE PLAYER INDIE GAME WITH NO ONLINE CLOUD SAVES. GAME NEEDS TO BE REMOVED FROM STEAM FOR SAFETY CONCERNS

I really wanted to give this game an upvote. The game was pretty fun for the price, and I had almost no problems with the game. However, after the first time I opened and played the game, every time I tried to run the game it would never open. I would click play, steam would say that the game is running, but nothing would open for me to actually play the game. Ctrl-alt-Delete didn't show anything either, it only showed Steam being open. Turning Steam off didn't help as well, when it opened up again it still showed the game as running. The only way to fix it was to restart my computer. So in other words, the game is basically unplayable for me. Which is really sad, because I actually liked the game. So, if you want the game, play it for like an hour and a half, then exit the game and open it again. If it doesn't work, the just return the game and get your money back. Its unfortunate but oh well.
