This is the first time where a game has been so un-enjoyable where I had to request for a refund. The game mechanics are not bad, but the customizability is just hideous. If "enormous potential to upgrade" means only able to change number of ammunition rounds and armor plates, then the author clearly hasn't played other games like Armored Core or Front Mission. You can't even swap weapons from right to left. It is also not clear if you can switch corporations later in the game, since you are forced to pick one before you even start the tutorials.
The UI seems like the game is still in early access, where you can't change the window size nor other settings like mouse speed or controls. Game window size only comes in 2 settings, the default window size and full-screen at a user-specified screen resolution. Other features like neuro-implants have no good in-game explanation on what they actually do and it seems like clicking the buttons to upgrade each implant ability seems to not be working.
The campaign mode is also ludicrously difficult for a game that's geared to bring in new users. I was on a 10 game winning streak under the "skirmish" mode (1 vs. 1 AI bot battles), but my first loss was on the very first map of the campaign. I then tried the second map and learned that you are forced to fight against 4 enemy mechs. (You only start with 1 mech and have to spend 500 + 1000 credits for every new mech.) I thought it was some kind of rigged event-battle, but nope you had to defeat all 4 mechs in order to win. Currency in this game is a bit weird since it seems like the only use it has is to buy more ammo and armor (hit points).
Overall, I feel both ripped-off and cheated. Ripped-off for paying the price for what I should be paying for a well-polished non-early access indie game, and cheated for the notion that mechs with fixed weapons & ammo-count upgrades are somehow acceptable for it to self-define "enormous upgrade potential" as a game in the mech genre.

It requires being online, even if playing the single player campaign, a number of times I've had missions end or mechs act weird due to connections issues. Occasionally mechs don't turn or the turn order goes weird or freezes. I can't recommend this game in it's current state.

I really enjoy this game and don't really see whats up with the stream of bad reviews rolling in.
Use your head, play it safe and you'll make it, most of the time. This is not so much a game you can jump into and be good at. It seems like these days that's all people want out of a game, an easy, instant gratification game. You have to put some work into your play's in order to win here.
Do I recommend this game? Absolutely.

UNFINNISHED GAME AND MASSIVELY OVER PRICED FOR CURRENT CONTENT.
I paid £7 for this, for an indie game that is quite a lot in my opinion. As a Battletech fan I liked the look and saw potential. As of this writing however there have not been any game updates for roughly 2 months, there is a list of promised improvements and features still outstanding, however there have been several DLC releases.
The game itself is not bad but if left in its current state with very little content or refinement I would say the game is worth maybe a third of the retail price at best.

Interesting at first, but lacks depth of story and mechanical diversity. All of the mechs are the same, with only 4 types of weapons and 1 anti missile system {which consumes valuble limited ammo space if utilized} The only adjustments {at least up to level 8} are where to place armor and how much each type of ammo. Keeping in mind that the mech only has capacity for a total of 12 combined shots..including ams..with 1 infinate fire laser that is only good out to 2 spaces. the story is weak and puts you in unwinnable situation by the 4th campain mission, with no clues as to how to get through or around it. The enemy detonates an all mech killing emp as soon as you line up a final body shot on any of the enemies. Overall it gets pretty boring by level 6.

NO PLAYERBASE AT ALL.... If you get this game you wont find anyone to play with online.
Boring mechanics:
All mechs you buy are the exact same thing so basically you lvl up until you can use the max amount of mechs in a game. All the mechs you use are the exact same. This means the only customazation in the game is based off how many ammo for each gun you want to take with you on a mech. So one mech might have 10 long range missles another might have more cannon ammo. You can only equip somthing like 12 ammo so you pick, cannon, long range missle or short range so on and so on until you get to 12 ammo. You chose where to place the armor which is i think 11-13 armor pieces you get to pick like chest R arm or L arm or back. And thats the game thats it you pick what ammo and where to put armor there is not diff mechs or diff weapons or anything like that its really pretty stupid after the first 15 min you will get bored.

Well lets start off with, the review is written as it appears the game has died.
It looks like the developers have shut down the servers so there is no real point in getting it, as the game requires the servers to even load to be played.
It was a cute variation to Battletech, you roamed around campaigns with large Mechanised Infantry on a hexagonal map, on a turn-based clock.
Game play was relatively easy to learn, A.I. had good response so there was always a challenge as you progressed.
Variations to your mech(s) helped customise you play style and/or particular missions, there was an element to pay my currency to obtain things faster than grinding, but seeing as online multiplayer was optional, it didn't really matter.
It was a cute variation, pity it's still not running.

So thought I would give this a try, and behold the single player option is active as of 23/05/2020.
Going to try get into it a bit over the next few weeks, but needlessly said, it's nice to see something that was paid for can be accessed as a stand alone game.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recommended: Not really since the servers are dead
Replayability: It did have it
Drawbacks: [strike]It is no longer online supported so the game does not run at all.[/strike] It is now running as a standalone game at least.

Besides not knowing what Battletech is or Front-Mission, i find this game fascinating.
The game itself is on early development, not early access, I hope thye add new features and items for further startegies, because this game is nothing else than Chess with giant robots and hexagonal space instead of square.
Now the pros and cons:

PROS:
Very strategic gameplay: If you don't think twice when you play this game, it'll be difficult to win, as every action you do will actually be decisive for your win or loose.
Campaign is cool: It really shows/explains the player what is going on the story of the game and the events you're taking on, it gets harder and harder further on, the AI is improving.
Graphics: As it's a Unity game, the graphics is the usual, i wouldn't count this as a PRO, but well, they aren't bad, they're slgithly good for a unity game.
CONS:
Learning about the game: The learning curve of this game is quite hard to explain, if you've played some of these strategic games, it's not that hard but if you're not used to them, you'll take quite the time to actually learn how to master your strategies.
"Free to Play" mechanics: Somehow this game has some Free to Play mechanics that could be easily replaced by other mechanics but the developers actually wanted it to be like this.
The game is not very expressive or "friendly": The game right now, on 21st of March of 2016, it looks like one of those games from 2005, where it was the game itself and nothing else, this game lacks some serious faction attributes, let me explain, it would be cool that before choosing the damn side (Russians or USA) they could explain some of their advantages or disadvantages, or even who the heck is the commander of that faction, so people can easily choose who to aid.
Too Long didn't read a.k.a TLDR:
The game as it is, it's a baby game (early game) if they dont throw this game to the trash can like the developers of Kinetic Void or Starforge, this game will become great and famous.
Graphics are okay because it's a unity game, hard to learn if you don't usually play strategy games, cool campaign.
Early game still has some "Free to Play" features, not very expressive or friendly, lacks some characters and story for itself.
But yeah, buy this thing, it's worth the 10€ / 10$

If you're looking for a MechWarrior game with Atlas, Hunchback, and Spider type mechs, you'll be disappointed.
This game uses mechs as a reference, but it's it own thing. It's about conserving armor and putting your mech in the right hex and facing to use the weapon you want (Think of solving a template puzzle over aiming and shooting a weapon and you'll do fine). You can customize loadouts in terms of favoring shorter or longer ranged weapons. You can chose whether to put your armor on the right-left-or body facing. You gain implants as you level up. It's a leveling game where you get better through unlocks rather than a mech building game where you're factoring size, armor, speed, and loadout.
I admit...at first...I was disappointed that this wasn't a rebirth of a MechWarrior Tactics type game. But I got over that and the game is what it is. The PVP is nice and better balanced because of the game's simplicity.
It's not a bad game. It's a bit phoney (Phone app like :-) ) and shallow for a PC Mech game, but there was enough to keep me entertained. Your milage may differ.

Don't assume this is like Battletech. It's like Front-Mission.
Let me explain why. Weapons don't just have range limits, they have specific template areas they can hit. Take the long range missile. It has a 3-hex wide and 8 hex long area it can hit. The targetable area is 5 hexes distant from the firing mech. However, what I consider to be the game's fatal flaw is that you can ONLY shoot in one of the 6 hex facing directions. If the enemy is one hex to the left or right of a straight line up the row of hexes, you mysteriously cannot take a shot at them.
Ok, I get that it makes the game more a maneuver puzzle as players try to get enemies into one of those 6 cardinal facings. I don't like it in the least, however. Had I realized this was the mechanic, I would have reconsidered the purchase. The range bands are cool, but the strict facing limits for weapons fire were very... shocking. It makes it more "mech chess" than a war game. That's what the developer intended, so if that's interesting, go for it.
