It doesn't add a ton, but look at the price, can't believe people still aren't happy. Worth the money imo, people expect too much.

I love it when they want you to capture a maxed out chaos dwarf settlement with 3 endgame armies early game

- New Legendary lord
- One real newunit (2 reskins)
- New starting position
- Few mecanics.
But what do you expect for 5€ ? I personnaly love it. Rather this than incomplete rosters.

this game is one of my absolute fallbacks for years. i love it. i buy all the dlc. i've completed all but 2-3 races on the hardest difficulty. one of them that i haven't is this one because i am very uninterested in their playstyle and map location. so i figure i'd give this one a ♥♥♥♥ as my completion of this particular race type. i have never. ever. had the game crash as much as this one does. only this race. it's insane. i can barely make it 5 turns without it crashing. then continues to crash at the exact same spot. i've tried loading back. sometimes it works. it doesn't matter how many times i try it refuses to not crash at the point it does. then i stop playing for a few days, come back to it. sometimes it works.. for 3-5 turns. totally unacceptable.

This ♥♥♥♥ is only worth it for the units to play with other cathay lords, the campaign is simply bad
all of the missions are like "betray your allies for a laughing-worth amount of gold" or "Go to the middle of nowhere to fight the #2 most powerfull faction for measly gold,40 iron favour and some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ war drum"
Weak campaign, tbh, fair price for what you get,but simply poorly made

Interesting, another character that is quickly attacked by 2-3 major factions (Maggot Lord, Grimgor, Greasus) within 10-15 turns, while your Lord barely has time to make any secondary army with 1900 income per turn, now that's pure enjoyment.
Frustrating? No!
I always wanted to be attacked non-stop early game from the north, the west and the south while my allies get pummeled mercilessly from the east (because specifically when they are your allies, they will always be defeated by just anybody...), now that's total cinema.
I can tell CA tested this new faction in great detail.
Don't work too hard on your next money-machine TW: Warhammer 40k, would be a shame if your focus on WH III dropped in the meanwhile.

3 units, and recycled mechanics. Caravans sound like a good idea, but they're a slog, and this pushes you to use them to get emblems. You start in a horrible location in the mountains where your major settlements don't have walls to help you defend, and your movement is hindered, and you are forced into conflict with Ogre's. Even more slog. The emblems push you to have to conquer the settlements the game wants you to conquer (and you need emblems so the Tigermen units don't suck, or at least don't suck as much, because they're surprisingly squishy). I get that this was a small DLC (that took 6 months to develop for some reason?). But I wish they added more units , and dropped the redundant (and boring) caravan mechanic. I would have paid more for more/better content. As it stands, this is hardly worth 5 bucks.

It's ok. The positive of course it's 5 bucks. The negative is you get what you pay for. It feels like a minimum effort character pack with a lot of broken faction elements. Which is too bad, because Bhashiva as a character alone is a bad ass.
Is it worth 5 bucks? Meh.
What a lost opportunity it the faction wasn't used to expand the southern region below Cathay. Instead, it was sandwiched in the mountains of the ogre kingdom. I've been told that CA needs to get permission from GW to expand that region, but this feels like a really poor excuse. I'm sure CA and GW could have come to an agreement to release that area, especially now the game is several years old. Missed opportunity!

This is probably the laziest DLC yet for the game. I'm usually pretty forgiving when it comes to Total War DLC, but this one really has nothing going for it. Its reskins of one unit which is pretty bland plus there's virtually no integration of it into the Cathay roster or even into the legendary lord's skills/play style. On top of that there's an incredibly dull and unrewarding set of campaign mechanics. The missions are essentially the original version of the Ogre Kingdoms bounty system but with very minimal rewards + you can't even take more than one at a time. This is particularly crazy because it looks like they were meant to be done that way, i.e. you'll get one mission for defeat this enemy faction, another for defeating their faction leader, and another for taking one of the same faction's cities. But you can't take them at the same time??? In addition there is the requisite "let's add a couple boring menus with some thrown in unique resources" that they've been doing in every DLC that can be used to give X unit 10 leadership or Y unit 10 extra range. Really lackluster.

Just for hardcore fans, casual players should avoid this DLC.
Why?
- There are just a few new additions to the game(units, hero, lords), nothing really remarkable.
- The campaign can derail very quickly if you expand in the wrong direction or pick the wrong upgrades.
Everything in the tutorial and quests is bait, as if it wants you to fail. Which is very brutal for casual players.
BUT that makes your own decisions meaningful and I quite enjoyed that.
Edit: The quests are really badly implemented, the targets are all too far away and the access over the sub menu is really annoying.
Details SPOILER!!:
[spoiler]
1.When you go north and kill Grimgor you are in between very aggressive factions. The quest leads you this way with the reveal of the relics. Additionally the Chaos dwarfs have no real threat that keeps them at bay. Guess who they'll attack instead.
2. If you use the relics to improve the banner in the middle which is highlighted by the tutorial, you will lose immens power. The one to the left provides stalk stance which extremely increases your attack power. The one to the right gives all tigermen phys res, which is one of the strongest stats for infantry.
3. Goldtooth wants peace, because he sits on a big pile of money. If you let him keep it, you will lack funds when Cathey get overrun by turn 40/50.
