Roadclub League Racing is free, and it is FAR superior to many of the racing games for which I've paid actual cash.
If you're not playing this, you're missing out!!! 10/10

Way too grindy and repetitive to be fun, and I guess I could've lowered the difficulty but making the AI suck doesn't seem like a reasonable way to get past their OP cars. It also doesn't help that the game is trying to incorporate realistic elements with your traction, etc. but with a top-down game you get so little feedback that the car is just gone before you really have a chance to recover. It either needs to be way more arcade-y and have a more gradual progression with more variety, or it needs to go all-in on the sim aspects. You're somewhere in between and that makes it not fun but also not rewarding

A great old-school top down racer. If you liked (or even heard of!?) Super Cars and Super Cars 2 this will be right up your street (see what I did there?). The game takes the basic fun of old style arcade racing games and adds a whole bunch of modern elements such as analogue steering and throttle control giving the game more nuance than one would at first presume.
The game play is solid, the presentation is great and the developer is both active and communicative.
Highly recommended and well worth the full asking price. :)

When this game popped up on my store page I thought it was something like the top-down racers from the C64/Commodore Amiga era.
Turns out it's more of a sim than an arcade racer.
This is not a bad thing though, it just means that it won't be a 'quick bash with your mates' kind of game like Rally Speedway or Micro Machines, but it takes a bit more planning.
It also means you will have to learn what upgrades/tuning are required to keep winning.
All in all it looks like a great game to spend a lot of time on this winter.
Oh, and the developers are listening to the players, and want this game to be the most fun possible for everyone.
If you like top-down racers with a bit of depth, this is a no-brainer. GET IT! :-)

If you like the classic Death Rally, you're deffinetly gonna like this. The thing I like most about this game is the ladder system: you build your little car up from nothing, earn money -> buy better cars, upgrade them with engine/handling/more nitro etc and become the top of the league to progress to the next league.
The dev team has been more than helpful to me and the game is realy fun to play. It's a definite buy for me.

I've avoided top down racers for years after having some atrocious experiences with other top down racers such as Little Racers & Micro Machines. That said, when I saw that the developers were going to make this freeware, I decided to go for it as it was 90% off and hardly broke the bank.
Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised at the games play-ability and performance; I generally such at most racing games, more so with top down versions. I even won my first race, with a crafty undertake towards the last few bends of the race. I like the upgrade-ability of the cars and although not my favourite type of racer, I will be playing this again in the not too distant future.
Anyone who likes to support developers of games that are worthwhile having, grab this while it's 90% off; it'll only cost £0.71/$0.99. I don't know when the dev's are converting it to freeware, but I'd grab it now for that feel good factor.

Wow what a little gem, Simple and fun and you can upgrade your cars and buy better cars as the races go on. The ppl that thumbs down this game are ppl that say the cars are hard to handle but i dont think so u just need skill and not just flat out everywhere, All in all i really enjoy this little game. Also it is nice that u can build your own maps to race :)

So far so good, the game has great potential and the Devs are very responsive to ideas.
A top down racing game geared more towards the simulation aspect than a simple blast round a track.
You can dive into a race or start a career, limited cash and a small garage for your racers.
Do you drag one off the scrap heap or drive one of the fore court?
Options to upgrade and repair cash willing too.
Handling depends on the car you buy, but is good.
A variety of tracks with the promis of more to come, and hopefully a track desgner.
Graphics and sounf do the job.
I have enjoyed my time in the game so far and look forward to more updates.
As I mentioned earlier Devs have responded quickly to concerns I have had improving a few visual aspects to ensure I could enjoy things better despite my visual impairment. Also tweaked AI at lower levels. Kudos to them,
I certainly can't argue with the price either.
More than happy with my purchase.

Roadclub: League Racing shows a lot of promise and it's already fun and with a great amount of content. I'm very surprised to see a day one Early Acces game already very polished and robust.
There's a good variety of tracks (nine tracks right now), challenging AI, excellent music (really, really good, wish I could buy the soundtrack too) and great interface. The controls are all rebindable, there's four difficulty levels to choose from, and you can choose to race at any time of the day and with different conditions, like rain, snow, mist and strong wind. Also, there's local multiplayer! Local multiplayer for a top down racing game on Steam is a very rare thing, and this feature by itself is enough to guarantee a purchase.
The gameplay is challenging enough and it's cool that the AI upgrades its cars on Career Mode - it makes the game always exciting. But don't be scared, if they become too strong, you can always earn money by playing custom matches on any track and with a different difficulty setting.
Also, it's worth mentioning that this is clearly a game made with dedication and love (since 2004! Look at the store page for more info). The devs are always listening to your suggestions and feedback. Join the community! This game can be even better with more players and a lot of ideas.
TL;DR - Already nice game with a promising future
