this is even worse than the first one ...every single enemy just hurls itself at you everytime you pass , the parcours is very boring and short , . endless fighting , all the money spent on potions and still not enough ... very frustrating , no rewards and literally mindnubing ... I've played many, many rpg games , this series is by far the worst ; seems to be made to make a fool of anyone stupid enough to buy it ...

Last Heroes 2 on Steam is a videogame featuring sustainable RPG maker gameplay! Catchy interloping music with a market haul storyline! It delivers some cool gameplay quench thrift moments! Some cool single-ply threads enemies and bosses! With extra breathable formulas! Relatively speaking the last heroes the first one is better cause of the awful side-tracked long final dungeon that doesnt end! Other then that its a eliminating good time i give this game a 9.0/10 love the burrito master

Tags: Topdown - RPGMaker & Party RPG Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Same filler-oriented padded structure as the original. Stock assets everywhere. Cult VS resistance theme. Poor quality writing. Take 2 heroes from the first game, stranded on continent, game warps back and forth between them and resistance until they meet. Go take the fight to the bad cult, probably an evil god behind it or whatnot. Dont really care. Game still uses swirly backgrounds, stock tileset, stock assets all around. Same music loop as the original gets grating, it restarts every fight you have. This time the pacman game is harder since the encounters move at running speed and can even swarm you gets tedious and annoying. Grammar and spelling errors. Conclusion: Another clear bottom of the barrel game. Hard pass. Removing local content permanently and hiding from library for declutter.

Got this game because of a coupon for completing a badge. Gave it a handful of hours and didn't hate it but didn't necessarily thirst for more. If you're looking for a dragon warrior clone to hack some time away, give it a try.

An interesting follow-up. Half the protagonists of the first part set off to find Amelia's parents on the Odaro continent, but get shipwrecked. Adventures ensue, and somehow the full group reconnects. The characters are well-formed, and the battles can be intense.

Last Heroes is an ultra-generic but enjoyable RPG. In short, Last Heroes 2 is the same, but without the "but enjoyable" part. Perhaps Warfare Studios thought it was a problem that players could complete Last Heroes in 4 hours. That's the only explanation I can think of for the design choices they made with this game. No longer can you avoid enemy encounters; they're still touch-based, but now most enemies move like jack rabbits, dungeons are loaded with passages that are too narrow to go around enemies, and even the "escape" option in battle has been disabled. So fast is their movement, often times you'll be swarmed by multiple enemy encounters as soon as you enter an area. It would be laughable if it didn't mean wading through far more battles than you need to get your characters up to decent levels. Compounding the problem is the insane amount of backtracking through dungeons. Now, I'm actually a proponent of backtracking; it can add depth to the challenge of conquering a dungeon, and it's usually more realistic, because honestly, if you make your way to the deepest reaches of a cave that's miles deep, you're going to have to find your way back. But it is possible for backtracking to be excessive and contrived, and in Last Heroes 2 it definitely is. Not only do you have to make your way both in and out of every dungeon (except the last one), going through all the unavoidable enemies both ways due to respawning, but you're commonly asked to re-enter dungeons in order to complete side quests or even progress the main story. That means you have to go through some dungeons four times. All that repetition and requisite random battling means that Last Heroes 2 takes 6 hours to complete. So the game is 2 hours longer than Last Heroes at the price of having about ten times the tedium. The story also takes a dive. The plot of Last Heroes was "Fight the evil overlord for the items of power." Generic, but at least it gives you a reason to care. The plot of Last Heroes 2-4 is "Go from place to place asking if anyone knows where Amelia's mother is, occasionally fighting some cultist you met five seconds ago." I sympathize with wanting to find the mother you've never met, but there are no stakes. If you never find her mother, Amelia will still have everything she had before. And while Viper wasn't a hugely interesting villain, at least he had a tangible motive, a strong association with the player characters, and a well-defined threat. The final boss of Last Heroes 2 (and of 4, for that matter) is just some vaguely evil guy with vaguely evil intentions that he might follow through on some day. Last Heroes 2 is still a completely functional RPG, but one that's a drag to play through and never offers any payoff for the time investment.

So, the original Last Heroes I called "the most purely generic RPGMaker RPG I've ever played." This one didn't even do the one interesting thing the original did with the "prologue" bits for each member of your party, filled its dungeons with "on-map" encounters that are nearly unavoidable and respawn every time you re-enter a room, and forced you to walk back out of almost every dungeon and then also revisit and walk back out of almost every dungeon again. And there's two more of these? Well, this one's got a total playtime of a little under five hours - probably much longer if you want to defeat the optional boss, given the part where it hits your entire party for 1000 damage every few turns, but I didn't bother with that - and it was somehow even more generic and repetitive than the original, since you couldn't even run past the encounters. Maybe I'll learn my lesson and not play Last Heroes 3. Maybe you will wisely skip this series as well, reader.

This game is a bit better than the first in terms of going thru the same dungeon multiple times... Because it is shorter. Way shorter. Enemies go after you like heat seeking missiles, there are a grand total of two sidequests(hey, the first one had none) and the story is so boring I didn't even bother to pay attention. I'm seriously thinking of never playing the third game, for the sake of sanity.
