love the software not so much the expired domain for those who want to have a fix for it while it gets settled go under updates and betas in the app's settings and set it to "beta" and it works again

Wallpaper engine is a web-based platform, and today lost its' domain. This will likely be fixed, but the fact that i've now paid $5 to allow system-level access to a web-based platform that allows third-party developers.
I'll miss my moving backgrounds but this is not the way.

I will never use wallpaper engine again. After finding out that there has been 0 protections against this day 1 vulnerability, i uninstalled it, and it will NEVER be reinstalled. The fact WPE did nothing and just let it happens shoes theyre in on the problem, very likely running it or involved, because theres no way something like this just slides under the radar for years. Shame on you, goodbye wallpaper engine.

As of 6/8/2026 now showing an advertisement for GoDaddy whenever the application is launched and lacks any other functionality.
I have the paid version of this software and have used it for over a year with no issues before this, but this is unacceptable

Honestly a game changer for desktop PCs, having an animated and interactive desktop makes things so much better. You can have your wallpaper react to sounds like music, react to you moving your mouse, and other cool stuff like that.
I also find it hilarious how people in the reviews go on rant about nsfw content. Keep in mind that the only way to see this content is to go out of your way to enable it in the apl's settings, which means all these people complaining about seeing titties went out of their way to enable that setting just to complain about it

Fix for it being down right now (upvote pls) :
-Close the app, go to steam library.
-click the games dropdown in the top left corner and select tools and software (can't remember which on specifically)
-right click on wallpaper engine and click properties
-game version & betas
-select "beta"
-exit and launch and it should work normally
