A very simple yet addicting game. Great story with a lot of humor. Possibility to develop units. A diverse world with interesting opponents. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwsC4IYmVOM Subscribe to my Youtube Follow my Curator Page for more RPG Games! The game itself is fairly decent, my only problem is that you are unable to play any of the other factions from the previous games, you can only play either the sea people or the campaign. In case if one of the developers see this I want to ask if the game has a discord or something similar. I wanted to ask what the game contains on if I wanted to purchase it but I couldn't find a link.

Age of Fear 4: The Iron Killer is the latest installment in the renowned turn-based strategy game series, and it's a testament to the genre's enduring appeal. Developed by Leslaw Sliwko, this game takes players on an enthralling journey through a dark and treacherous world filled with political intrigue, challenging battles, and deep strategic choices. One of the standout features of Age of Fear 4 is its rich and immersive storytelling. The game presents a compelling narrative that keeps players engaged from start to finish. Whether you're a newcomer to the series or a long-time fan, the well-crafted plot, intriguing characters, and unexpected twists will undoubtedly leave you wanting to uncover more. The dialogue is well-written, and the choices you make during interactions with NPCs have a tangible impact on the unfolding events, adding a layer of depth and replayability. The tactical combat system in Age of Fear 4 is both challenging and rewarding. Battles are turn-based affairs that require careful planning, positioning, and effective use of your units' unique abilities. Each unit has its strengths and weaknesses, and learning to exploit them is crucial for success. The game offers a diverse roster of units, from powerful spellcasters to hulking warriors, allowing for varied and strategic gameplay styles. The AI presents a commendable challenge, providing an enjoyable experience for both seasoned strategists and newcomers alike. Visually, Age of Fear 4 maintains the series' signature style with detailed and atmospheric graphics. From the eerie swamps to the war-torn villages, the environments are beautifully rendered, immersing you further into the game's world. The character designs are distinct and memorable, adding personality and charm to the diverse cast of heroes and villains. In terms of replayability, Age of Fear 4 offers multiple branching paths and different endings, encouraging players to make different choices and explore alternative storylines. Additionally, the game features a robust modding community, allowing players to create and share their own scenarios, units, and campaigns, further extending the game's longevity. However, it's worth mentioning that the learning curve in Age of Fear 4 can be steep for newcomers to the genre. The game does provide tutorials and tooltips to help you grasp the mechanics, but it may take some time to fully appreciate the intricacies of the gameplay. All in all, Age of Fear 4: The Iron Killer is a captivating and strategic adventure that fans of turn-based strategy games will thoroughly enjoy. With its engaging storytelling, challenging battles, and immersive world, it offers hours of gameplay and ample replayability. Whether you're a seasoned strategist or a curious newcomer, this title is a worthy addition to your gaming library.

Love the Series. I´ll admit that I was not too happy on Day one DLC, but the game is great. Cant wait to see the next game!

I am sorry, but this game is terrible compared to the previous entries. The new story structure is awfull. I never liked the move to pseudo open world gameplay in the first place, but this game requires you to grind random battles, because you start out with only two units, and the next story mission requires you to have 10 units. In previous games I could mostly ignore the randomly generated garbage battles and only play the handcrafted fun stuff, in this game this is no longer viable. Add to that no longer being able to choose a faction out of two, and having locked DLC on the map screen on all time, and I see absolutely no reason to play this game over the free Age of Fear the Free World. Why did I spend money on this again? It needs a strong shift in design philosophy to make me come back to this series in the future.

I own all the previous ones and played them trough multiple times. Don´t let the graphics fool you, this is solid TBS game with plenty of units to choose and upgrade and evolve.

In my opinion weakest title in the series for two reason: Just one campaign, so it's quite a bit shorter than the others The new faction doesn't really feel at all central to the story. Sure you field naga units but the story is entirely centered around humans with the faction just being randomly attached. It could just as well be orcs or possums and nothing would change. Still the game is good enough to give it a thumbs up. If you are looking to enter the series for a first time I'd start with the others.

THIS IS A SERIES WORTH SUPPORTING MADE BY DEVELOPERS WHO CARE! If you were initially cautious about "missing out" on new features and tried to figure out which game would be the most bang for your buck out of the Age of Fear series, it's actually a lot simpler than you'd think. I'll explain below. I suggest either buying the whole Age of Fear series or specifically the one whose story/characters draw you the most, because... - The series backports new updates and features to older games in the series. This means that, for example, if a new feature is implemented in, say, Age of Fear 4, it will be ported back to 1, 2, and 3 before long. That way, if you don't like the playable factions in 4 but do like the factions in 1, 2, or 3, you can enjoy this new feature with your preferred playable faction without having to miss out, just because you like necromancers more than dryads, or any other number of reasons. - Despite the connectivity in mechanics between games, the storylines aren't connected any more than being mentioned or briefly encountered in one another's campaigns. This means that you DO NOT have to play through the games before your preferred game to understand what's going on, aside from a simple, brief cameo or mention of previous protagonists' names. Pick which one interests you, and go for it! - If you're unsure of which game's factions interest you and would like a trial run, there is a FREE TO PLAY sandbox game for Age of Fear called "The Free World"! Use this to give the factions a try and determine which game will ultimately be the most fun for you to play! If you like the gameplay of The Free World, you are guaranteed to like the gameplay of 1, 2, 3, 4, and the upcoming 5, as they are nearly identical in gameplay. Their storylines, main characters, and playable factions/playstyles are what set them apart from one another. Ultimately, I consider the bundle very much worth it, but your mileage may vary. I haven't regretted my support of this series so much as once, and I can be quite picky! If the series interests you, I wholeheartedly suggest that you give it a try, at the very least! Sidenote : The developers are very well behaved, in my experience, and have been a pleasure to keep up with. They're positive, respond regularly, and even go out of their way to get refunds back to people who are displeased and went past Steam's refund 2-hour limit.

I generally like this series whenever it comes out with a new game, but this time around it's just not enough to recommend. Instead of the usual two campaigns in the game there's just the one. And it's got day one DLC. You don't get additional content down the line when developers make some new content, you're getting a chunked up game at the start. It's still age of fear and it's still a fun game, but if you are a fan of the series then keep your expectations a bit lower.
