Review After 100% Completion this is a neutral Review and I'll explain why this game has mixed reviews. this game has 3 modes to play: -Genesis: which is the classic mode you merge stuff. -Quests: another merging mode but it has 3 stories to play and you unlock these stories by merging stuff in Genesis mode. (both of these modes are great and have no problem) -My Hero: this mode is the reason for the negative reviews in my opinion, it has many problems: 1-It's an idle game "wannabe" mode but the problem is you can't close the game or open any other windows because the game will stop and won't make any progress if you are not in the game. 2-There's no point in playing this mode but achievements, you just grind for achievements. 3-It crashes so often that you buy items for your hero and press the back button to continue grinding.

The game is ok, but it kept force closing. Which was incredibly frustrating. I got my hero to level 19 then it force closed and reset my hero to zero. I still had my gold so I started over then got him to level 14 and it did it again but this time took the gold too. So, guess I won't be getting that final achievement. Oh well.

Doodle Games are fun to play BUT NOT THIS ONE. Crashes frequently and My Hero mode is super awful especially for people hunting achievements. There is no scaling for XP and Gold gain and there is actually nothing you can do besides clicking some chest for 100 gold every now and then. Im currently at level 15 after being stuck at level 14 for HOURS (would probably take me atleast a full week to finish all achievements) because of the low XP gain. The other part of the game is not as good as it is with other doodle games but atleast playable. Don't buy this game, don't ask for it to be gifted and don't wishlist. Worst Doodle Game I've ever played.

Did I just spend 20 hours of my life playing this mobile game ?! Doodle Kingdom is divided into three modes. First, there is the main game, the Genesis, in which you have to combine two elements to create one of the 116 existing ones : for example, mix "Elves" and "Lumber" to create a bow. Imagine the possibilities ; it gets a bit annoying trying to figure out what elements the devs established, so I made this guide to save some players time. Then there are three quests to unlock by discovering the related element in the Genesis. The goal of those quests is to combine even more elements, although the themes vary : return your Kingdom's glory in "the Return of the King", show off your evil powers in "the Necromancer's Uprising" and breed four elemental Dragons in "how to Train your Dragon". And then there is "My Hero" : the part of the game I was more interested in, since you're supposed to fight monsters with your character. Basically you have to click on the chests you find on your way to collect some gold, in order to buy new equipment. Your hero runs, flirts with redheads (I know, I know, heroes need some distraction too) and fights the creatures you previously discovered in the Genesis. There are some RPG basics, as experience, gold, quests (kill x monsters, collect x gold, run x meters, etc), equipment and stats (everytime you level up you can spend 2 points on Health, Stamina, Attack and Defense). https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1184691151 My first review was negative mostly because of the frustrating fact that the amount of gold and XP you gained remained the same, no matter your level, so it was really hard to progress and unlock new stuff. Developers don't always listen to the players, but in that particular case, they actually did ; that's why I'm going to recommend their game this time. Since the major update, the gold and XP in "my Hero" now scales with your level, so you even get extra gold to skip quests (recieving the reward without completing it) to level up faster. There are also some improvements that make the game more enjoyable : for example, you can now sort the elements alphabetically. Doodle Kingdom remains a simple game but has some entertainment potential nonetheless ; a game I would recommend to casual gamers or people looking for a simple and different experience, specially with a discount.

Game Information "Doodle Kingdom" is a Puzzle game. The game was developed and published by JoyBits. The Game Review Game Visuals I want to mention that the visuals for the game are well done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu. Game Audio I want to mention that audio for the game is well done. Even though the audio is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well. Gameplay There are no difficulty game modes to choose from. Each of the puzzles has their own difficulty. The objective is to combine two existing elements to create a new element. There are numerous possible combinations that would work and would not work. There are fourteen different achievements that can be unlocked from playing the game. Each of these achievements does come with some requirements that need to be completed before they can be unlocked. Miscellaneous There are six different trading cards to collect. Only three of those trading cards are given out by the game. There are several ways to get the rest of the trading cards: Purchased from the Steam's Community Market; Trade with friends; Booster Packs and its Booster Pack Creator. Final thoughts: I have found the game enjoyable to a certain extent. The replay value for the game is low. I would recommend this game, but not at the game's full price value.

The game isn't that bad. Same deal as all the other games in this genre - make (sometimes very obscure) combinations to create new things. This one even had a nice little twist with side quests that I was really interested in. However, I DO NOT recommend this game since I can't play for more than 10-15 or so minutes before it crashes. It is pretty consistent with the crashes, too. Such a shame.

I have played doodle games before on mobile and when I saw it on sale I thought I would pick it up for steam. This game is pretty pointless after you finish the Elemental section. The elemental section is fun and identical to all other doodle game but it is over quite quickly. The Quest section seemed like a really interesting way to adapt the game play but that took me no more than 20 min to finish and then what. The only thing left to play was the god awful hero section. Its terrible, boring and broken. Your hero runs along an inifitie dungeon running in to monsters and women and beer and all you can do is click a button every once in a while to reload his stamina or health and click on the treasure boxes to get gold. Oh and there are mini quests that give you more gold or xp if you finish them but all you have to do to finish them is wait 5-10 min and then they will be complete. The reason I believe it to be broken is that the amount of time you need to level up and gain money to buy the useless equipment for your hero is staggering. I'v been playing this stupid game for over 10 hours and i'm only just level 15. I try to finish a game completly before I uninstall it but the thought of pushing through this to get the final achievement at level 21 is making me pull my hair out. This game would have been better if they left out the stupid hero section and added in more quests. Then it may have been worth the sale price. I really cannot recommend this game at all.

Update: I read the game was updated a bit since I wrote the review on 15th of June 2016. Finally got to 100% this game after a couple of hours more play time. The endless mode finally encourages some active gameplay. For example, if you go for the gold quest and spam open gold chests, you can use the gold you earned to "purchase" quest completions for extra experience. Original review: Got it when it was 25% discounted on lauch, still wouldn't recommend it if it was cheaper. The basic idea of the game is kind of neat; you have 3 different game modes to play. The most fun ones for me were the element matchings but that's over quite fast. I think I was done with the game after 1-2 hours, then only the hero mode and 3 more achievements were left for me. Hero mode feels like an endless mode but without enough interaction. Your hero runs a path if you have enough energy/stamina, and you need to push a button on your controller or click the button with you mouse so he keeps running instead of walking. You basically do that every ~30'ish seconds. The other button is hero healing, you don't need it that often, if at all. Whenever there's a treasure chest above your hero, you press another button on your controller, or you click it with the mouse whever you spot it. That's 99% of it. The last achievement for me is to get to level 21. After 13 hours of playing, I just hit level 16 (the second to last achievement for me). Getting to level 21 would require another 24 hours, I assume...so I'd rather spend that time on something else. tl;dr - nice idea, you'll most likely be done with it after 1-2 hours though

Hello friends! I want to write this while playing this game...and im not sure why it does not work for me, but my friend says it works fine for them. The game suffers from a microsoft visual C++ runtime error that breaks the game for me personally. That is the whole reason why i am giving this game a negative review. I have tried to validate the integrity of the files already without sucess. Next, i plan to check my visual c ++ files and see which one it may of installed wrong. NOT RECOMMENDED UNTIL RUNTIME ERROR is fixed. The game is pretty much non-playable for me until the runtine error issue is fixed. NOTE: Depending on your pc, you may or may not have the runtime error. It does not happen with everyone. BE aware of this fact.

I wanted to like this. I really did. I'm returning it less than 10 minutes in. I kept getting in-game advertisements for their other works. This would be understandable in a free-to-play game, but in a game I paid money for? It's annoying, and unacceptable. EDIT: They've removed the ads.
