In summary.
If this is something you want and you feel like the devs deserve your support, go for it. Bundles and ss, pretty good deal.
If you don't want to cheese the content but still want to support the devs. Bundle but dont use it till your 2nd playthrough.
If you want DLC with substance, there are 4 DLC characters and the unlock (all the grind cutscenes, music, album). All between is $3 - $6 total.
Even with the best gear, the end game can still destroy you.

From what I've experienced from my early games, Durandal is a one-hit kill with normal attack to weak enemies.
