I recommend getting this at the same time as the base game, as there's not much point getting these new characters if you've already finished the game.
However I also recommend waiting til this is on special, as it really only adds a few frills and feathers.
Despite being a "season pass" this does not include the Ant Man levels or characters.
However it does include 5 short levels (which are needed for achievements):
-Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
-Black Panther
-Doctor Strange
-Captain Marvel
-Masters of Evil
This adds a few hours game time, and the levels are pretty enjoyable for what they are.

Okay like a lot of people I was hesitent at first to get the Season Pass cause at the time they had only released the Captain Marvel and The Masters of Evil packs. So i decided to wait until they relesed the rest of the DLC and think it over. While i was thinking it over I went back and reread my negative review of the main game thinking will the DLC levels be done in the same hot mess as the main story or will it be taken from the characters respective comic books? To my surprise they had done the extra levels right from the comics. The only levels that aren't from the comics are from the TV series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. For 10 bucks I do feel that I got my money's worth. The new characters are a lot of fun to play as, as well as going through the new levels. Even going back through the main levels in Free Play with the new characters is a lot more bearable then the main story itself. Yes I do still hate just the main story of the game. I always will. But having the entire Season Pass to play around with makes up for it. So not much left to say then I fully recommend getting the Season Pass. Its 10 bucks you wont feel like you wasted money and it is totally worth the price.The Season Pass now comes with all DLC.

I don't recommend to buy Season Pass, because when I bought it, in description said that it includes all future DLC and I thought ,,Wow, I won't buy extra DLC'' and yesterday I wondered why I couldn't add to my library Captain America Civil War DLC. But if you want to buy it, be aware that it includes just 5 DLC. I'm disappointed of that False Adversting.

Civil War Character pack and Ant-Man levels aren't included with the season pass! The included levels are very small, but if you want more charecters than this is ok.

This Season Pass does not includes Antman DLC, which is expensive with only one level.
And you cannot get all achievements if you don't buy the Antman DLC. It is not right!

The Season Pass for Lego Avengers gives out 5 story packs (ANAD Dr. Strange, Masters of Evil, Capt. Marvel, Classic Black Panther, Agents of Shield) as well as the Thunderbolts, Adventurer and Pass exclusive Explorer character packs.
Unfortunately, like Lego Force Awakens and Batman 3, the pass misses a few of the DLC. This is primarily because of timed console exclusivity/early access. Hence why the Civil War character pack and Ant-Man level packs aren't included.
Pass is fine as is with what's given.

A while back I would have recommended this but now not so much. You purchase the season pass to get all of the dlcs but you don't with this one. Why leave the Ant-Man and Civil War pack out? Don't know if I will ever purchase another Season Pass. This is borderline false advertising.

Basically got this for free with the sale, so let's go.
First off we have the Classic Black Panther pack. Original level, several characters I've never heard of, and Klaw looks like a Klown. 10/10.
Next is the Captain Marvel pack. Based off of comics, ends on a cliffhanger, so it's an advertisment. Cool plane though. 9/10.
ANAD Doctor Strange. Fun level, fun characters, probably also based off of comic. 10/10
Agents of SHIELD. Ming-Na Wen provides original voice acting, eventually recognizable characters, nice attention to detail. 10/10.
Masters of Evil. Somewhat interesting level, fun characters, everybody looks like clowns. 8/10
Avengers Explorer pack. Starbooster Armor, Hammerhead Armor, Iron Skull. No complaints here. 10/10

The reasons why the Captain America: Civil War, Ant-Man, and Spider-Man DLC aren't a part of the LEGO® MARVEL's Avengers Season Pass is because the first two packs were originally PlayStation exclusives, while the latter was later included as a free DLC. And therefore never intended to be a part of the Season Pass.
This is nothing new, since LEGO® Batman™3: Beyond Gotham and LEGO® STAR WARS™: The Force Awakens also had PlayStation-exclusive DLC until they were eventually released on Steam.
