[h1] A delightful sequel, with a tinge of improved pacing and intermixed, very minor yuri hints! (8.2/10) [/h1] (• Played with R18 Patch) Welp, let’s go. I’m slowly working my way up the whole bundle, and I feel this second title has some more substance. Granted, it’s still very surface-level moege that’s probably enjoyable only for the target demographic (me; cishet dudes), but potential recency bias aside, while I was playing through the first half, I genuinely felt surprised that there’s actually some proper story writing here. Compared to the Vol 1 (which is fine in its own right, but felt formulaic in making stuff progress; and seemingly much more simple in terms of [b]general plot and pacing); Vol 2 seems a few steps removed from being bare bones.[/b] [b]It has somewhat emotional moments regarding broken bonds and self-growth, and succeeded in making me [strike]cry[/strike] care; even if nothing profoundly groundbreaking.[/b] Of course, in the latter half you’ll get the usual romance hijinks which still feel slightly contrived, but it could’ve been worse. I can almost say it’s ok to skip Vol 1 entirely comparing their writings alone; but two titles having combined world-building during non-romance sections is quite a benefit. SoL in V1 completes V2; so more of the 7h can still feel more robust here and packed with more things that matter! Still rec both tho. As store says, this title [b]focuses on Coconut and Azuki[/b], and it seems that the first 3 Vols will each focus on a [b]particular pair at a time[/b]. Of course, Chocola & Vanilla are still present. But I feel [b]our new pair have plenty of charm and are a bit more interesting. Maybe I’m biased[/b] to love their types; both the cute, anxious tomboy & the smol tsun (on top of loving the VA for the former); but it really does feel like they have more range of character. [b]Shigure is also heating up and getting a bit more brazen.[/b] You can still brush it off and there’s no reciprocation, but if you’re irked, it’s not stopping soon; judging by the track record and again, upcoming title’s Synopsis. (For little of extra trivia, Vol 1’s H scenes were 27.89% of time for me.) As per usual; I am a player who doesn’t cut off VA, and screenshot a lot, but during long downtimes I pause my timer. Not liveposting this time though; so it’s close to other’s times. For the latter it does mostly happen during intercourse and not other cut-ins of less-intense foreplay; but it’s already more than most in this regard and quite a selling point. [h3](+) Pros & General Ratings:[/h3] [b](+) Writing & Scene direction: 7.3.[/b] I commend them for making something slightly more enjoyable; where I’d give a flat 7 for V1 on this aspect. The progression between one scene to the next feel slightly more sensible here, and the general scene direction was unique enough when focusing on Coco as an LI vs. Azuki as an LI. Where V1’s solo CG cut-ins of SFW close contact between Choco & Vani were too similar, [spoiler]“[i]sniffs MC’s back & front[/i]”[/spoiler], this one has some stark differences between two LIs in the pair. (Minor mention) [spoiler]There’s handholding, hair drying & tail drying, some nice side hugs, but also a quite fancy date; and creamy, finger-sucking kitchen mishaps! Also a little Lap Pillow for the V1 pair, but not solo, ig. [/spoiler] [b]Kashou also feels slightly less bland;[/b] tho the bar is in hell with V1. But he says things that actually should and could matter to the girls; and acknowledges when he’s showing off a bit. It’s a bit of a step-up, at least, and makes things [b]slightly more believable[/b]; despite the usual harem anime vibes. [b](+) Art: 9.1/10.[/b] Still some god-tier anime goodness; the CGs fit the sprites quite well most times, and the amount of it does show top-tier production quality. [b](+) Lovely catgirl LIs (8.1/10).[/b] Not much else to be said since I already half-elaborated on this; I love self-deprecating humor and I think Coconut was pretty funny and cute on some of her lines. I also really appreciate Azuki; her sarcasm and rudeness never felt overbearing to me, and direct-narration-tells be damned; she DOES seem to care about the girls around her somewhat. It’s quite a design decision to say that in the cat-family (excluding Choco&Vani); Coconut is the youngest, but mature in appearance; while Azuki is vice versa, but I guess it could be a bit of an unnerving fact, and I don’t know if the alternative would be better. [b](+) Good VA (8.0/10).[/b] Not much to say, I might be slightly biased since Tezuka Ryouko (Coconut’s VA) was my favourite out of the Ditzy Demons cast when voicing Miyabi there; but for the most part based on what’s here; everything is pretty good. I do have some slight gripes with some of Azuki’s line VAs down below tho. [b](+)New “pet button”.[/b] I guess it adds to the immersion. Maybe the fandisc (0) also already had this and technically is earlier; but that one had a non-existent MC presence, so this is nice. [h3](-) Cons:[/h3] [b](-) Typos. [/b]Almost goes without saying. It does somehow feel less blatant here than in V1, but during Azuki’s Ch 6 ending talk, I’m pretty sure there’s a moment of [i]”shouldn’t”[/i] being mixed up with [i]”should”[/i], among a few other things. [b](-) “Pet” feature causing somewhat permanent expression changes until a new expression change.[/b] Sometimes breaks immersion quite a bit; i.e. if a girl is sad / angry / even is sleeping via sprite (Chocola & Vanilla after ear cleaning); petting them shifts them out of their actual intended expression in the scene, and sometimes they’ll have a permanent, unfitting smile that doesn’t revert, even after a few narration & dialogue lines up to 6 lines in some occasion. Probably since in the intended scene, there’s no expression changes coded in during those parts. Esp. if the girl isn’t talking. Sometimes the sprite changes only touch up the eyebrows for accentuation for example. And you could end up with some very uncanny expressions. Guess they coded new expressions & eyes as something like “show __” at the start of lines. [b](-) Deleting saves still crashes the game.[/b] Not-using JP-system-locale bug or something (lol), but it’d be nice if publishers fix these. Another wholesome adult game about cat girls and their master. 8/10 game.

loved the first game and absolutely love the second game. the focus on coconut and azuki‘s character development is so good, also love their designs. only issue i have is that the sister-brother incest vibes that is starting to show more between shigure and kashou is a lil off putting but other than that the game overall is still fun. also love that you can pat the characters now :3
