I don’t have much positive to say about this game unfortunately. I usually like playing from time to time challenging levels in platform games that require some perseverance (super meat boy, celeste, etc). Spelunky 2 is however way too hard in this regard. It’s a frustrating game where one small mistake will snowball out of control and a few seconds later you are back to the beginning of the run. I didn’t have fun playing spelunky 2. This game is only for a niche of players.

Spelunky is like an abusive relationship.
Sometimes it leaves you with bruises and sometimes it makes you cum so hard you end up seeing stars.

This game, this game frustrates me to no end. Over and over I find myself dead to some stupid chain of events. It makes me want to scream, cry and yell at the top of my lungs.
Yet, I keep coming back. I keep having fun regardless. Even with the game constantly beating me over the head with a 2x4 and spitting on my twitching, comatose body, in some masochistic manner it's still fun.
If you enjoyed the first one, or any kind of metroidvania or roguelike absolutely give this a try. It will hurt you, again and again, but it's worth it to chase that tiny, speck of potential victory.
