So I'm having rather hard time marking this one. I have super mixed feelings about it. I really like playing mahjongs or solitaire games as I can simply run audiobook in the background and still have things done, but this DLC I would simply conclude it with words "overcombined" or "overdone". I have finished the game twice already and I still don't know how some special cards works, there's just too many of them. The beginning was rather annoying as I am playing on the hardest difficulty, but with all the upgrades I could buy I even started to like the game towards the middle to the end. But when I reached the ending (not mentioning the story as it's simply senseless) I found out I still have 2 achievements to do... one is "Earn 5 mln pure" and another Ultimate Heights (which I don't even know what am I supposed to do). But I have right now 4mln pure after finishing the game twice so I guess to get it you are supposed to finish it 2.5-3 times --> too annoying. I don't really see this creator learning from his own mistakes. There was already a big discussion (and problem) in base game about collecting animal's eggs (and later rising them). Many people would love some bonus for such horrendous job, but pets are as much useless as they always were even in this new dlc. Ok at least you can buy booster to find them this time instead of using 3rd party program auto-clicker. Also does difficulty has any impact on the progress? Such things are not explained - only short info "for those who like to torture themself" (or something like that). Where I can prise the creator of this game is "Discussion" tab where he answers in nearly every topic. So in the end: If you only want to relax while playing solitaire, go for it, If you are achievement hunter -- keep a long distance from this game. I'm going to leave it as positive review, because as solitaire game it's still very nice, maybe I was too harsh making it negative at first.

's... Okay for the most part. I first finished the Main game again as the Achievement for "evolve all pets" never worked for me. (Now it did). Compared to that... This DLC is harder and as someone pointed it out -> "More sadistic". There are a SHEET TON of freaking SIDE EFFECTS... Uh... LOTS of "problematic cards". I stopped reading after the 20th card as they are all just annoying. I still managed to beat the "Adventure" part of the DLC. Cool. Now then... There is *another* part. The Academy. Well. I can only comment on the Tutorial level. I played it like 5x, if not more... But I NEVER unlock anything else and I have nowhere else to click in order to "gain experience" or to "get talent points". Guess I am done. Cool.

I've been a long time player of Faerie solitaire- I purchased the orginal and loved it, and was happy to replay it in its upgraded format. So, of course, seeing a DLC for one of my favourite card games, I was more than happy to give the developer my time and money to see what they had cooked up. Sadly though, by the end of my playthrough, I've found myself somewhat disappointed. The base card games is still there, and still good! The right kind of challenging with lots of ways to adjust your playstyle. You can choose multple challenge goals for the DLC adventure- easy, challenging, and impossible- and also other ruleset changes that can affect how much 'pure' you earn for each set. Honestly, I liked that quite a lot, it let me choose just how tricky I wanted the game to be, and really helped me out in the endgame levels. This card game doesn't mess around in its final stages! So props to that. However, I found myself somewhat missing the 'soul' of the original game, namely the pets and the story-art. The developer had been using generative AI art for the new line of DLC pets, but ultimately chose to let those go in favour of "shadow art" place holders until an artist could be found, but then the core collectable doesn't really feel exciting anymore. It doesn't matter now what each egg hatches into or pet evolves into- its just another dark blob. AI isn't the solution- surely there's an artist out there somewhere that could help with this? Someday I'm sure this will be a moot point when the art is updated. As for the story art, the orginal had drawn art for each of the stage "cut-scenes" when you completed a set. In this DLC, you get grimoire enties- long blocks of white text on a black background, and occasionally, a 'cutscene' which is just auto-scrolling text also on a blank black background. I tried very hard to pay attention to what the story was supposed to be, but I just couldn't throw myself into it, missing whole sections of text due to the autoscroll in the "cutscenes" and finding it hard to parse the dense grimoire. I love storries, I love to read, but no matter what I tried I could not enjoy this. I could not tell you what happened to this character or what her story is- which I know is unfortunate. Something I've also seen spoken about, and something I agree with, is that the menus can be messy. Depending on where you are in the game, the buttons available to you change. It can make it frustrating to navigate between areas when you're always searching for the right shortcuts. Additionally, the fae-shop menu for buying materials and for upgrading drop-rates is a little hidden- I didn't notice it until about mid-way through the entire game. The magic system is a welcome addition in this DLC, but the max level for it feels a little out of reach. Perhaps its something I did wrong, or perhaps I didn't use my spells enough, but by the time I completed the game I had only managed to get level 33 of a totatl of 75 possible levels. Although I enjoy the base game well enough, getting the rest of the levels to completely max upgrade my overall mana gain and spell level feels like a grind. I suppose, overall, I can say that if you're buying this on sale its a good deal- lots of levels, more pets (that may some day have cute art to enjoy, but at the time of this review they didn't), and a magic system to play around with. Otherwise though, I can't say it was a fun experience- just something that felt empty, ultimately used to pass time. I look forwards to the day that that changes.
